He was interviewed along with Paton from the Vikes and some other dude. Lynch got the job.
To further complicate matters, there is talk about retaining a Director of Player Personnel to help Lynch (either the asst GM in SF or Mark Dominik). So Lynch will not have final say on roster and will not be head of scouting, and probably won't do contracts.
