From what little I’ve read about most of these picks is they are leaders or team captains or quality people. So from this initial sample it would seem that Guts is using some of Teds metrics.

      Seattle just drafted Dickson. LOL
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

OL - GUARD -COLE MADISON- WASHINGTON ST. ... Prospect Grade = 5.39

Packers select Cole Madison TOP of Rd. No. 138 in the 2018 NFL Draft

" Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Bill Schroeder selects Washington State tackle Cole Madison No. 138 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. "

              DRAFT PROFILE:

              Overview

" Madison's athletic ability, foot quickness and ability to sustain blocks on the move make him a desirable target for teams who want offensive linemen who can excel in space. However, his lack of anchor in pass protection will likely be targeted by pass rushers looking to for holes to exploit. A move inside to guard could benefit Madison, if he can add strength and play with better knee bend."

But the draft pick compensation doesn't guarantee a Pro Bowl QB in the near term anymore than it guarantees a sure fire pass rusher this year. Is there actually going to be a better QB prospect after pick 5 next year than Lamar Jackson this year?

I am in the camp of Harv who said the trade was a good value considering who they wanted with the #1 pick this year. But then to double up at CB with pass rush available seems unwise.

Rodgers status cannot dictate every move, but he should dictate a few.
My guess on cb2 was that he was ranked high by the Pack and they trusted their board. Even though it's the same position as their #1, they likely got 2 if their 3 favorite cbs in the draft and both rated as 1sr round talent. Despite the doubling up, I prefer this strategy. Get talent.
No longer the member of any fan clubs. I'm tired of jinxing players out of the league and into obscurity.
