Pack loses this one in a tough, hard fought game. Mase misses the game winner at the end of regulation.

Yes, it is Flower adapting to Rodgers’ desire to make a running back the centerpiece of the offense.

Totally see where you are coming from since we ran with authority so often and Rodgers hit open RB and TE all the time last year when we were 7-1 at this point. You make such a sound reasonable logical conclusion I find it hard to argue with. /Sarc

I think it’s both, cuz both guys want to win more than anything, but these debates are hilarious.

I credit Lafleur for adapting to Rodgers too. He’s done a really good job of keeping a bunch of ARs best stuff. And Jones doesn’t seem to run the outside zone well. Maybe it’s a combo of OL and RB. But Lafleur adapted to Jones and runs more inside zone and plays more shotgun to take advantage of ARs field vision and Jones ability to take a hand off from shotgun and still make those inside zones happen.

Lafleur has definitely adapted to AR and Jones and Lewis and MVS and every player. He’s highlighting each players strengths.

But AR has adjusted quite a bit too. More running. More throwing to running backs and TEs. Less sacks. Getting ball out sooner, etc...

It seems to be both. I’m impressed with both guys being flexible and team oriented instead of being stubborn.

What did we do to deserve that?
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

The Flower's greatest accomplishment so far is adapting to talent on hand. I think he was aided by Adams injury. Even Rodgers had to find alternatives. (I hope they keep that going when Adams returns).

He's running inside zone at least as much as outside zone because his line blocks that better. He is running shotgun because Rodgers likes that better.

But he doesn't forget players who are going well, he remembers to run and he doesn't 4 minute offense himself to death. Who knew first downs were as important as bleeding the clock late in a game?!

To give bobble some credit, focus and talent certainly makes a difference in your run game. You can take the comparison too far because M3 had a lot of success with Lacy and Jones, but Flower has expanded on talented players role, which is what the offense needs. That helps make the run AND pass offense work. Opposing D needs to prep for both roles. If the Packers had a TE making any regularly teams would be in serious trouble against them.

Balance is a dumb color announcer taking point. Capacity and ability to execute are more important to the run game and offense than balance.

                            Of course.

I like tex being here because he reminds me its much more fun to root for your team to do well than just dwell on the bad news. Someone needs to stick up for your team, might as well be [insert your poster name] and tex.

But it doesn't mean tex is 100% correct. Sometimes a glass half full perspective gets you to Greg Jennings was a possession receiver. That's when we all need to pull tex back from the brink of incoherence

Notice though, that passing on 3rd and long is more difficult than passing on 2nd and inches. It’s an exaggerated example of the balance principle. When a team has to stop one area, it makes another more available. When a team is continually beat in the run game, they slow their pass rush and make mistakes in pass coverage because they bite on run action..... all sorts of things in the pass game open up from the run game. And vice versa. That’s what people mean when they say balance.

Coordinates are making a more concerted effort to make pass and run look the same at the start of the play too, so it slows down the defense in reading their keys and attacking. Balance applies there as well.
