We lost the battle in the trenches on both sides of the ball (excepting pass protection), but we still managed to win the game. Would be kind of dishonest to name anyone off the lines as a dud in this game, really.

I believed this until last night. I am not so sure any more. But the Saints offensive line was working our D-line and still Kamara could not rack up rushing yards, which would have won the Saints the game. I suspect as a traditional runner, Jones offers more, but Kamara was lethal in the receiving game where we knew Brees was contained to inside of 25 yards. That counts for a lot.

A lot of the time, he was playing inside even in running situations, and he kinda got pushed around - not all the time, but some. I didn't say he never plays inside, just not as much as Sunday. And it's obviously made worse by not having Clark there.

You seriously don't know who Jonathan Garvin is? A UDFA who supposedly looked good in camp and won a spot as an outside rusher - #53. He got closer to Brees than Gary or P. Smith on Sunday.

I'd just say Aaron Rodgers was better than Brees by a bigger margin than the rest of the Saints were better than the rest of the Packers. Yeah, our O and D lines got outplayed, but by generally better personnel.

Oh no, Brandon is probably gonna agree with me now hahahahahahahahaha.

Sternberger looked awfully excited when he caught a pass. Maybe that was his first career reception? He looked a bit surprised too.

It's a bit soon to say any of the TEs are more than JAGs. For sure Mercedes Lewis is a heck of a swing tackle.
I'd say the TEs are good enough, smart enough, and dog-gone-it people like um.

First regular season catch. He did have a 3 catches in the playoffs last year--including the TD against San Francisco.

MVS still gonna make a ton of deep catches once 17 is back and drawing those brackets. Can’t over/under everyone and they’d be insane to pick 83 over 17 to bracket if 17 is healthy
I've been on the MVS wagon, and the deep stuff was being taken from him, but he should have been able to get 5 grabs underneath given that...but like a great QB does, ARod took what the saints gave him and turned in a nice game...almost as good of a game as Brees had.

I thought Tonyan played a better game than stormbringer. Both showed up when needed though, and that is nice.

Be a great regular season, then a flame-out in the playoffs.

And Zadarius Smith played the run horribly. He kept getting sucked inside then having the r.b. have a lane as wide as a truck to run through.
Yep. Z is a pass rush specialist. I haven't seen him stonewall a running play since arriving. Its my fear of what gary will become. Montez Sweat is a stud. Sets the edge, gets pressure. A complete player in the Preston Smith role.

I think Sternberger was relieved after a couple of drops last week. I think he's a natural pass catcher who will be fine. I love the Packers TE group. They all bring a little something different, and they have a coach who knows how to utilize them.

Brees didn't throw many passes more than 10 yards past the LOS. Kamara did all the work. They were all easy dump offs on an option route every team with a pass catching back should use (if LB uses outside leverage, cut inside; if LB is using inside leverage, cut outside).
Was easy pitch and catch, almost like when Holmgren would have Favre throw to Harry Sydney or William Henderson to make the short passing game an extension of the running game.

Seriously, it was some point early in the 3Q when I thought they should just put Jaire on Kamara and have the CBs press the other receivers (or at least play up on them to tighten the passing windows).
Belichick woulda taken Kamara out of the game in halftime adjustments (if not before kickoff). With Thomas sidelined and Kamara bottled up, Brees wouldn't have the arm to laser into tight spaces.

I guess we're giving him a pass on that -2yd rush where first contact was behind the LOS?

lol, wow was that an ugly play. I wonder what the flower saw that made him run that play? In the MM days I always hated the handoffs to Cobb.
