Jeremiah has Jenkins (24), JOK (19), Newsome (20) and Collins (16) gone before 29. He does not have Bateman, Toney, Moehrig, Barmore or Cosmi going in the 1st round. That would be an interesting situation for Gute.

My preference in that scenario would be: Barmore, Bateman, Radunz, Toney, Moehrig (Holland instead, if he were available), Cosmi. I'd rather have Radunz + our two 4th round picks than Jenkins - our two 4th round picks. I have Jenkins slightly higher than Radunz, but not enough to give up two 4th round picks.

Looking at some of the LBs now. I do like JOK. I'm surprised I do because I wasn't as high on Isaiah Simmons as others last year. I doubt he drops to #29 and not sure I'd trade up for an ILB, but if he's just sitting there, I'm on board.

I actually messed up CB with the guys that meet the minimum requirements for the Packers. The Packers have generally required CBs to be over 5'10" (I think Jaire was the shortest at 5'10 1/2"), 4.56 in the 40, 76 in SpR that I calculate that is a combination of shuttle and 3 cone, and 74 in ExR that I calculate that is a combination of vertical and broad jump. Samuel doesn't meet height requirement. Campbell, Melifonwu, and Trill Williams don't meet SpR requirement (they were stiff in the agility drills).

Asante Samuel Jr. was only an eighth of an inch shorter than Alexander. But he was 17 pounds lighter. That's the only major difference in their RAS scores. Don't know how much weight is an issue at CB with Gute.

Newsome is my first choice but I'd be almost as pleased if we got Samuel in the first round.

I've been reading the Acme Packing Company site, and they seem to have some fine, in-depth articles that look at the players in a way similar to you. That is, they're trying to judge them by the standards they think the Packers have generally used in the past. So it's not just a vanilla "who are the highest rated players?" but "who, given the Packers' past standards for judging players, do we think are the players who rank highest within that system?"

One corner they mention is a guy named McPhearson from, I think, Texas Tech. Any particular reason he's not on your list at all? His overall athletic rating, weighted to what they think the Packers' standards are, is a 10 of 10. They project him to go in round three or four. What say you?

I mentioned this in the first post, but I only added players that were in the top 150 (4th round, actually high 5th round, or higher) in one of the 6 draft sites I used. I didn't have time to analyze every prospect, so my spreadsheet contains only players that got a top 150 ranking from one of the six boards. That means the guy you are talking about was not considered a top 150 prospect on any of those boards.

Interesting. As I wrote, Acme suggested the guy was a round three or four pick.
