When I was 21 years old, my ex wife abd I were moving a piece of furniture. I was like, “pick it up, as in pick it up off the ground so it can move.” It seemed so easy for me, I could not understand how she was not able to pick that piece of furniture off the ground.

People who are naturally risk adverse cannot understand how someone who’s brain works differently could not calculate a risk. It’s so easy for them to see. But Henry Ruggs may be a good person who’s brain just doesn’t compute risk the same way.

Things that seem easy to us might not be so easy for the next guy. Everyone is built differently. When you really grow up, you start being able to put yourself in other peoples shoes and understand differences.

I’m ok with him going to jail or prison. He accidentally killed someone. But I’m not going to call him a bad person or gloat over his misfortune.

I agree with this 1000%. It's quite possible that Ruggs feels terrible, and honestly he should in the short term. Eventually he will have to find a way to deal with his choices and make the most of his life and try to make amends for his mistakes. It just won't be in the NFL that he accomplishes these things, if he ever does.

Nobody is gloating over his 'misfortune'. We are various levels of pissed and disgusted by his actions. He, and all the other god damned drunk drivers out there, need to have had it beaten into them that when they even think about drinking, someone else drives. Once they start drinking, its too late. Their ability to think about future consequences is gone. I am not going to waste any sympathy for anyone drinks, drives and kills someone.

Kind of a no brainer, but it's good to see the correct decision get made.

What was sick about his post? He is dead on correct. He was a moron, but he didn't willfully kill someone. He made a horrible choice. That does not make him a bad person, it makes him a person who wasn't intelligent enough to extapolate the consequences of his actions. Prison time. Indeed. But most of us let the Lord make final judgements in cases like this. If he stalked and strangled the girl...well, I'd probably judge him much more harshly. I'd declare he is evil and needs to be put down...however I would still concede the final judgement to the Big Guy.

C'mon. Not a bad person for getting behind the wheel when hella drunk and driving 3x the speed limit. C'mon.

That is 15 secs more than I could bring myself to watch. Don't want to know how Ruggs feels. It was not an accident. To call it unintentional is to ignore the painfully obvious. I'm not talking about being three times over the legal limit. I am talking about driving in excess of 150mph on a city street with someone in the passenger seat. WTF. Being drunk does not explain what must have gone into that decision making process. Don't want to dignify the person by watching him suffer. Worst part of this story is hearing reports that the death of the woman driving the other car was far from instantaneous. Ugh.

Take the DUI out of it.

What if dude was stone cold sober and driving like that and killed someone? Reckless endangerment at the least.

I remember a case, in Illinois, I think, couple kids got Murder 2 for chucking cinder blocks off of freeway overpasses and killing a guy.

What's more reckless? Chucking a cinder block off an overpass or driving 150 mph while absolutely hammered?

                        Whole thing is so awful.

I know who you are talking about, I think. My younger sister was in their class as well if we're talking about the same kids.

The Las Vegas Raiders have waived cornerback Damon Arnette after a video emerged on social media which appeared to show Arnette holding up several guns and threatening to kill someone.

The 25-year-old Arnette, who has been on injured reserve since week 4 of the NFL season, was a Raiders' first-round pick out of Ohio State in 2020. He leaves the team having played 13 games over two seasons.
"Today, we waived Damon Arnette -- a very painful decision," Raiders General Manager Mike Mayock said on a conference call on Monday.
"We spent significant time, effort and resources trying to help him in all facets of his life. There have been a series of bad decisions over the last year or so, but we can't stand -- we cannot stand -- for the video of Damon with a gun, threatening to take a life."
Gotta just be surreal to be a follower of the Raiders this year. Amazing they're finding ways to win with everything swirling around them.
