I think we have a solid QB for the future. Good enough to win a title, after all Sam Darnold did. But not elite like our last two QB's.

Three years from now it will be interesting to see if he's he's the best QB in our division
If he continues to play with a superior play caller and they surround him with talent I think he is borderline HoF. If we keep putting a shit OL on the field he will continue to miss games.

I think this is the year LeFleur needs to find out exactly how good Love really is. I am a proponent of the running game; don't get me wrong, but this insistence on forcing the run and playing at such a plodding pace (and we thought it was because of Rodgers!) has not helped this team. It's time to implement some up-tempo and urgency and give Love more opportunities. Maybe go back to Holmgren's approach - the "run game" also incorporates four or five-yard passes to running backs. If, you know, the Marshmallow can stay on the field.

The team around him is not as good as the previous 3 Super Bowl teams. It might be worse than Rodgers first team with LaFleur up to this point.

But Love also has not ascended yet. I suspect its not just the coaching and playing but this story is still being written. More like Favre than like Rodgers, a little less hero ball on improvised plays might make all the difference.

I absolutely think so. Of course it's way too soon, but long term excellence both of the individual and the team are the primary HOF factors, and being a Packer puts Love a leg up on anybody from a less great team.

There is no doubt it helps, but if you can be that efficient in passing while the run game struggles, then its time to tilt into the passing a bit more.

bobblehead, you may not have the balls to read my posts, but it's downright ironic that you post the same thing I just said, specifically that Love emulates the best quality of Rodgers - avoiding interceptions.

Yep. I think given the numbers it would be wise to slide down a bit for more first downs and a few less bombs. But don't abandon the shot play.

So not so much a hole in his game as much as a chosen approach.

I don't disagree, but a couple of the big plays Willis had against the Ravens were right at the start of the game when MiLF ran play action and the Ravens were 100% flat footed playing the run. He did the same thing as OC in Tennessee in the playoffs with Tannehill and looked the part of a genius. I just want a better OL so the OCD issue works a little better.

Also a low aDOT, which I just looked up and is average depth of target. So he's getting fewer completions on shorter passes.

That' stat shit can be very misleading. If a QB is under pressure, you WANT him to throw the ball away most of the time which will result in a lower completion percentage. Rodgers was the GOAT in large part because he did t.that and avoided interceptions.

Love seems to have learned his lessons well in that regard.

Based on different sources, Love was not good against pressure, great against the blitz, and great against man defense. PFF gave him a 92 grade against cover 0 and cover 1. So...when teams played zone while getting pressure without blitzing, Love struggled? NFL teams play zone about 70% of the time.
