The way I see players paid, it does not seem to matter where in the hierarchy of greatness a guy is. He just gets paid based on how recently his contract was signed.

It only really makes sense for you lock a guy down if he's top 10 and you should probably move on if he's not. The NFL absolutely does not agree with me in this principle though.

I guess I've fallen into the trap of drinking the extreme homerism Kool Aide like many in here after watching him play about a really good "half season" of football.
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Good for you. That sick anti-homer CMI pisses on all things Packer/Badger/Buck/Brewer hahahaha.

Josh Allen has worlds of talent, but he throws too many picks and often manages to find ways not to win. I expect Love to be extremely much better than him as time goes by.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

There I will agree with you, Tex. For three or four plays, Allen looks like a man playing against toddlers. Then he throws a boneheaded pick or makes a dumb decision. More physical ability than Brett Favre, because Allen is so damn big and strong, but really streaky. He can undo the “holy shit did you see what Allen just did?” plays in a single dumb moment.

Worse yet, he throws a lot of those picks with the lead. I've seen him consistently throw a pick in the middle of the 3rd Q with a 2 score lead. That just can't happen.

I would just say I would take a high quality known entity over a still unknown. I bet every NFL GM would too. That's the prudent and responsible thing to do. That said, Jordan is a blank canvas still. It remains to be seen what he becomes. Early signs are very promising.

How many big contracts have the Packer’s been successful with over the last few years!
Rodgers last contract was a huge mistake.
                  Bakh was a bust.
Aaron Jones was way over market.
We were ready to pay Adams, but he was traded.

I like Jordan Love. Let’s hope this one works out.

I wouldn’t bet on every GM.

Our GM just traded a high quality known entity to the Jets so that he could play a still unknown Jordan Love.

Didn't we have another GM once who did something similar?

I would think the people that matter inside 1265 Lombardi know what they’ve got with Love. At least what his floor is, and probably his ceiling. If he’s all that and a bag of chips, they’ll get that contract done. I’m guessing it’s more about the length than the per-year amount. He’s going to get Joe Burrow + kind of money. But for how many years?

QFW which is quoted for wrongness. He will reset the market. Of that I am certain. But like I often say, on this one I'd love to be wrong.

Isn't Trevor Larence up soon as well ? Love, Tura, and Lawrence are I think the next 3.

Do you pay love more or less than Lawrence ? And do you want to get our deal done first ??
