As you always say. I, for one, am glad. I think he's an important piece of the puzzle, and I'd like to see him end his career in Green Bay. I think he might even have one more contract in him after this one - after all, some of those interior D-line guys can be effective into their mid-thirties. Hali Ngata comes to mind.

Kadeem Telfort got some reps with the 1's at RT today. With Jenkins getting the day off Rhyan got reps with 1's at LG and Morgan got reps at RG.
Defense had 5 INT's today and 2 near misses. Bad day for QB's. He won't admit it but I'll bet MLF is ticked off that Love contract isn't done.I can't run no more

Morgan needs the reps, Rhyan needs to earn his job.
Not surprised by the INTs; these are backup QBs. I actually think the opposite - MLF is probably loving the teaching opportunities. These backups need reps to develop too. Love or Rodgers or any other QB throws picks in camp, especially the first week.
It may also speak to the coverage (and pass-rush) of Hafley's defense. From what I've read the corners have had good coverage on the WRs, and Gary has been a menace exploding from a 3-point stance.
As for Clark and a 4th contract - consider me highly skeptical. He'll have a lot of miles on him by then, and while he's been durable, I don't know that he'll last the length of his new contract, much less another one. Players who go pro younger often just retire younger; the mileage is the mileage.
And yes, he's worth the money. DTs who can play run and pass consistently well are actually pretty rare. He's way way better than Lowry. That's silly/uneducated talk.

Teddy Bridgewater absolutely fucking melted his knee in a non-contact injury. Almost ended his career and may have as a starter. Who know if he would have done better but he was royally fucked.

And Cletidus ain’t one of them rare D-Yokozunas.Originally posted by run pMc View PostDTs who can play run and pass consistently well are actually pretty rare. .
Barry ran a vanilla 4-men rush defense. If Cletidius was anything like that guy in KC, Barry would still be DC. Clark ain’t a playmaker, hombre.

Contract details: http://https://overthecap.com/player/kenny-clark/4739Originally posted by Joemailman View PostKenny Clark has signed a 3 year, 64 million extension. 17.5 million signing bonus. Clark's cap hit was due to be 27.5 million, so this may create cap room for 2024.
Packers could get out of contract after 2 years. Clark is due an $11 million roster bonus in March 2026. Packets cap hit in 2024 drops by just $1 million.

I was trying to remember which NFCN QB it was. Shit can go sideways when you least expect so I can understand Love wanting to get it done.Originally posted by Rastak View PostTeddy Bridgewater absolutely fucking melted his knee in a non-contact injury. I am always against holding out. Thank you Javon for that. Love is showed up so that isn’t holding out IMO. The Packers and him are just playing a little chess game is all. Had he went to say, a vacation, then I could see where he is acting like a shroomed up eye-roller.

This was the first name that came to mind for me.Originally posted by Patler View PostTeddy Bridgewater, and, personally, I think it altered his career.
Not sure if Bryan Bulaga blowing out his ACL on Family night counts. Injuries can happen anytime. Bakhtiari tore up his knee in a mid-week practice but I don't recall if it was a padded practice but wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't that late in the season.

yeah, that 2026 cap hit is basically giving Kenny the Preston Smith treatment. He plays like a madman and earns the money, he gets cut, or he redoes his contract. At a minimum keeping him around another 2 years is a good move.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostContract details: http://https://overthecap.com/player/kenny-clark/4739

I don't see 2026 as that big of a deal in Clark's contract. The way the cap is increasing, they can probably handle it, or they can simply guarantee the 2026 roster bonus, and the 2026 cap hit drops below the 2024 cap hit. The 2027 hit would go up $5.5 million, but they can do things to ease that if they have to.

Clark's contract seems reasonable in today's NFL. And who knows if he'll be good for a fourth contract? I'm only guessing that he will be - he seems like the type who could get there. But in the NFL, three years is a world away.Originally posted by Patler View PostI don't see 2026 as that big of a deal in Clark's contract. I'm with Run - I'm guessing MLF is happy to have some teaching time with the young QB's. But man, Clifford has thrown a bazillion picks already. Yikes.
I think it's another two weeks before we need to start peeing our pants about Love's contract. Until then, it's more practice for two QB's who very much need it."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

Some things were said that Clark's new contract had a lot to do with cap problems this year. Nope. It dropped from $27 something million to $26 something million, and it is fairly level for the term of it. As I have said, the team is in great shape cap-wise this year. And as was said, that third year $5 million higher than this year isn't that much of a problem either. The only way they would cut him is injury or severe drop off in quality, which I don't really expect.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostContract details: http://https://overthecap.com/player/kenny-clark/4739

What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?
