On Love’s first pass of practice TJ Slaton prob would have had a sack but Love’s throw goes high and incomplete. Pressure was def a factor.

Didn’t take Jordan Love long to target his slot receiver. Tosses an out route to Jayden Reed toward the right sideline. Jaire Alexander blankets it and could’ve had an interception, but drops it going to the ground. Perfect coverage.

Another nice play from Isaiah McDuffie earlier in practice and Eric Wilson had a stop behind the line on a run play.

Emanuel Wilson just jogged into the Hutson center. Will keep an eye on that.

Brenton Cox got matched up with a running back on a stunt and pushed him back into the QB for a pressure.

Quay Walker makes a diving interception of Love. Love under pressure tried to loft a ball up to Musgrave but he wasn’t ready yet. Entire play was disjointed and Quay made an awesome diving catch.

Tempers flaring early. Mosby and Glover get tied up. Gary very upset with it afterwords and barking at LaFleur and the offense. An intense start to practice. I’m sure the offense is frustrated they can’t get anything going.

Matt LaFleur said rookie Jordan Morgan would get a first look at left tackle, but at this point early in camp it’s clear he’s being looked at as a guard first. Getting starter reps at RG with Elgton Jenkins filling in at center for Josh Myers.

Morgan has been guard all camp.

Jordan Love was throwing behind the scenes to get ready for camp, but he’s a bit rusty to start.

Had Dontayvion Wicks open on a third-7 stop. Threw over his head.

Had Christian Watson on a slant against Javon Bullard. Threw behind.

Number two offense starts team with a false start.

Clifford completes to Heath for about 10 yards. Nice out route with King in coverage.

Clifford completes again to Heath but everything was fubar. Kalen King exited the field late, the defense left Heath wide open, and the offense had an illegal formation.

Love has praised how the defense has been playing, so that does play a part in Clifford's poor showing. Still, it doesn't excuse Clifford throwing so many picks. More sacks, or incompletions would be what I expect from a better showing by the defense. I'd still leave Clifford as the number 2 through the first preseason game. If he looks bad in the game, make the switch afterwards. Sometimes players use training camp to work on things they wouldn't do in actual games, so there could be some of that going on.

Happy to see Love's contract finally getting signed. Now it's full speed ahead. Hopefully love and his receivers pick up where they left off. I know they've been working out together in the off season. I want the team to hit the ground running to start the season. Not like last season. Go Pack Go!

I think the O line and WR competitions are the most interesting in camp.
Back-up QB and secondary will be good, too.

The team signed cornerback Don Callis, long snapper Peter Bowden and cornerback LJ Davis and released kicker James Turner, cornerback Zyon Gilbert and fullback Henry Pearson on Tuesday.

Jaire Alexander on Jeff Hafley: "The first day he came in, I was in his office. I talked to all the coaches. He was very open to suggestions, ideas from me, which a lot of coaches don't wanna hear sometimes and I just knew from that point, we're gonna have something."

You would love to play for a guy like Haf because he's gonna break it down and he's gonna cater to what we're covering ... Sounds like Hafley’s approach to business is welcome by the defense. Him being way younger than Barry probably has a lot to with it.
