Why? Is he not under contract for 2024? Fire his ass! Release him today!

Jayden Reed injury is apparently a toe, not calf as I thought Gute had said.

Love won't sit games, and the Packers won't jeopardize the future to save 10 mil. Deal's getting done.

Chances are, this contract will take him to the end of his career.

Stability and happiness mean a lot, too, for some. Not everyone is motivated by making the last dollar possible. Some are willing to leave a little on the table for others (teammates) to have.
Sure, that's certainly a possibility. I personally think it's less likely, but you never know. Either way, it's hard not be to excited that they resigned Kenny at such a good price.

Obviously a deal will get done, but I fear this could extend well into camp. Let’s face it. There is zero chance of Love getting a SIGNIFICANT injury right now in camp that would do anything to his contract value. The only reason he is sitting is to put the screws to the Packers. If the two sides were close, this step would not have been taken.

Zero chance of an injury? Guys have torn ACL's and worse with no contact. Right now the Packers have 2 QB's other than Love. if the Packers thought this was going to be a long term dispute, they would bring in another QB. Something to watch for.

Name me a QB that tore his ACL in non contact training camp. I can’t think of any. QBs don’t get hit and aren’t running full speed. True, zero is probably overstating it but the chances are immensely remote. That is why I’m pointing out that this is more likely to stretch out…otherwise he’d be practicing.

Teddy Bridgewater, and, personally, I think it altered his career.

So far it all seems amicable. No harm no foul here. And maybe Love sitting out the first week or so will give more opportunities for the coaching staff to judge who's gonna be #2.

The Andre Dillard experiment may be a short one. 2 days in a row he has been destroyed by Rashan Gary. Maybe time to start giving Morgan some reps there.

Packers have signed QB Jacob Eason and released Badger LS Peter Bowden.

Camp arm. Somebody has to toss passes to all those camp bodies.

Kurt Warner was a camp arm for us back in the mid 90's

It might indicate Packers aren't real optimistic Love deal will be done real soon.

Agree Eason is a camp arm, so they have enough QBs to throw to everyone. Wouldn't be surprised if they bring Bowden back once Love signs.

And the contract will get done soon. I'd expect the next few days, I don't think Gute is concerned about Love's "hold-in". No agent is going to advise his client to practice when they are on the verge of signing a big deal. A (sginificant) injury would absolutely impact the contract, and even a minor one would have fans thinking Love was either faking it or MLF was an idiot for getting him hurt in camp. It's a no-win situation.

As for Kenny, this is likely his contract to retirement, sounded like he wanted to always be a Packer. Also, he might make more elsewhere, but probably not that much to make it worth leaving an up-and-coming contender. He's timing this to (potentially) go out on top. It's still a $21M/yr deal for him, not exactly chump change. It likely means TJ Slaton is not re-signed.

Coulda just signed Dean Lowry for the minimum wage to do what Cletidius does: be a locker room mentor.

Clark’s game ain’t worth his price tag.
