Silverstein wrote a piece a week ago or so, about how Jones had disappeared this camp, clearly falling behind Dillard, Telfort and Glover. He had quotes from Jones expressing realization of his situation.
He had two years and a third training camp to earn a legitimate spot on the depth chart. If anything, he may have regressed this year. Time to give someone else a chance.
“The hamstring kind of threw me off,” Jones said. “I started a week later, and I felt I was a little behind the 8-ball, behind the curve. I’ve just been fighting to get myself back to the kind of flow where everything else has been.
“I’m not sure if it’s a case of too little, too late or what it is. But it’s definitely reshaped how I expected myself (to perform).”
