Maybe a little of both. Optimist that I am, I'm starting to rev up my optimism about this.

Two first rounders and Kenny Clark? My first thought was APB is gonna be happy hahahaha. I'm sorta glad too that a kinda aging Clark went instead of Gary or Van Ness. Two first round picks that certainly ought to be near the very bottom of the first round? I don't know. It sounds like a lot, but considering who we have drafted in the first round recently (not counting Golden), I guess it's ok. But Parsons damn well better not get hurt.

As for who got over on who? I think it was a fairly fair trade. Jerry Jones got more than most people thought he would, but if Parsons plays up to expectations, this makes the Packers easily the best teamin the NFL. I thought Parsons was a little bit overworked with the Cowboys. With the plethora of excellent edge rushers the Packers have, he can be rotated a little bit more as well as not being concentrated on so much by opponents.

So I will guardedly give my approval to the deal.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

Giving up Clark rather than Gary is a win because there was a good chance Clark was going to be a cap casualty in 2026.

        So a 2026 1st
        2037 1st
        Kenny Clark.

Get a 2x all pro. Keep Gary.
I am less concerned about cb now.

I'm ok with Clark being included. He's getting up in years and was injured last year. I am not a fan of them giving up two first for him. That's a lot of draft capital, although if both of those picks are #32, it will be totally worth it. (I do wish Upnoth was correct that that second pick is in 2037).

I would have given up being a Packers fan if the trade was as bad as the Hershel Walker trade.

Interesting tidbit I was unaware of:

Parsons and (Reggie) White are the only two players with 12+ sacks in each of their first four seasons.

Best comment I've heard so far: "Packers gave up more picks for John Hadl."

It ends up a double edge sword. When two players (Love and Parsons) are eating up 1/3 of the salary cap, it becomes difficult to sign/resign others. You need more players on inexpensive first contracts to fill out your roster, but when you have traded high picks away your chances of finding good players decreases. You end up with marginal players and other team rejects instead.

Signing FAs, even to big contracts, carries less risk.

Agree with all of that. Clark isn't yet 30 (will be in October) but has played a lot of football for GB having come into the league extremely young. Apparently very highly respected in the locker room. It's sad seeing guys like that traded, but he would have been gone soon anyway.

It will be interesting to see if there is a significant uptick in Gary's performance with teams focusing on Parsons. Maybe for LVN, too.

Word is he's kind of a high roller type dude. Likes being a superstar. Can he hack GB? Will Applebee's be enough for him?

                      He can walk to Kroll's.

I do jot care we lost two draft picks and the albatross Clark Conteact is gone. We have a guy that could have his name on the bowl in GB.

Especially since two 1st round picks were included.
I like Kenny Clark the person, however he seems like a declining player whose best days were behind him.

Potentially a good player, but statistically he was very average.
