"I'm also extremely disappointed in Elgton Jenkins - he doesn't seem to be an upgrade over Josh Myers, at least not in the run game." - Ya think? When did Meyers at Center and Jenkins at Guard ever allow a horrendous pass rush up the middle where it can do the most harm like we saw in this game?

In the short term at least, Tex is right. The Packers would probably be better off with Myers at C and Jenkins at LG than they've been with Jenkins at C and Banks/Morgan at LG. But it's early. Things will probably get better if they can get some continuity on the OL.I can't run no more

yeah, I don't think Myers is even starting. Hard to believe a backup for an 0-3 team would be an upgrade.
I still think a healthy Jenkins/Banks duo is better than a healthy Myers/Jenkins duo.
14 penalties - 10 in the 4th quarter. TEN! That is insane. This was one of those burn the tape games where nothing was going right. They absolutely have to show up to play, and just play better.

Myers has taken every snap with the Jets. PFF has graded him pretty well. I don't think he's an upgrade over Jenkins. But LG has been a major problem so far with Jenkins at C.Originally posted by run pMc View Postyeah, I don't think Myers is even starting. I don't have much trust in PFF grades, but it's undeniable that running inside was our strength last season and it's been crap this season. Also, there was hardly any pressure on our QB up the middle last season, and there was a bunch of it so far this year.
Yeah, I don't think things in general will be bad long term - a LOT more games like the Lions and 'Skins games, and hopefully zero more like the debacle against Cleveland. I think that will NOT be because of the quality of this year's O Line, but in spite of it.What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

We've all hashed out the multiple issues of the Cleveland game - the poor offensive line play, Love's interception, the ST fiascoes (plural), The Flower's questionable decisions (running a play at the end of the third quarter, for example). But nobody has mentioned the single most important cause of the loss: George Cumby.Originally posted by texaspackerbacker View PostI don't have much trust in PFF grades, but it's undeniable that running inside was our strength last season and it's been crap this season. George said in the run up to the Browns game that he actually wouldn't mind a Packer loss. Hmph.
It's all George's fault."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

But MLF's statements this week kind of underscored my angle on that:
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur sent a clear message to Rasheed Walker after he said the team could go undefeated.
If they were going to lose a game, better to an AFC team, and early in the season to get the wake-up call.

Even so, wouldn't a shitty win still give the team a wake-up call AND a 3 -0 record? Or would they think they could win even when they play like shit?"The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

There was a little bit of the old "lets keep this game close for the networks" in a few of those calls.Originally posted by run pMc View Postyeah, I don't think Myers is even starting. Hard to believe a backup for an 0-3 team would be an upgrade.

Arrogance may have contributed to the upset so winning may very well have added to it.Originally posted by Fritz View PostWell, as long as they wake up . . .
