I think if he wins a playoff game he's in good shape.

Honestly, I don't think he can. His defects are taking over. He hung on to Joe Berry a year too long, and I don't think he knows what the problems/answers are for the oline. I just see them spinning their wheels on offense the rest of the year. Very few coaches make it to year eight, and almost none deserve to.

If they can't score against the Giants next week, it's time to pull the plug. I don't see Matt able to right this ship. Someone else needs to come in and fix this oline.

Playoff appearance will save him but missing them shouldn’t.

He needs to hire an offensive coordinator and give up play-calling.
We have lost games where the defense gave up 13, 16, and 10 points.
The offense is the problem. He is the problem.

He’s certainly coaching to keep his job at this point. MLF is fiercely resistant to change, and it has cost him from maximizing what has been a high caliber roster through much of his career in Green Bay. The constant running when it isn’t working this year is a prime example. He can stare at whatever piece of modern technology he wants to on the sidelines, but you don’t need that to figure out the problem is the play calling. Opposing defenses often are diagnosing exactly what play is being run before the snap and jumping on it. Stop being so damn predictable and stubborn.

I voted make the nfcc, because there's zero chance he gets fired if the Packers make it that far. He will likely be retained if they win a playoff game, but there is slight chance he still gets canned.

He needs to make progress on the offense given the personnel and injuries. He isn't on a playoffs or bust out short list.

But I do not know if the new guy Policy is going to change things up and not let the GM decide. If he takes over those decisions, its anyone's guess.

It would be a big mistake to let MILF out the door. I agree the play calling has left something to be desired here but let's not forget this guy has consistently showed up and been a great coach over many years now.

Who are they getting that's better? Work through it with the coach. They do need a new OL coach and probably OC as well. Some new ideas would be good.

The key to MLF keeping his job (other than winning some games) might be him agreeing he needs some changes on the coaching staff. If you're going to be a draft and develop team, you have to develop young players. They seem to be falling short there.

How many teams still do let the GM hire the coach? I don't think it's very many. Gute had a role in hiring MLF, but it wasn't his call.

If any of them had a clue, they all would. But the Packers at times seemed determined to follow the lead of other less successful teams.

On one hand, I don't really agree with this - they did take the youngest team in the league two years in a row and almost certainly three years now.

On the other hand, I did have the thought that they are no better off and arguably worse since letting the niners loss a couple years back. They just haven't really grown.

He should be fired immediately. He sucks at hiring people, he is a terrible play caller. He has no discipline on his team. He needs to be shown the door.

This is the kind of poll question that's too hard to really answer, because so much is context. If The Flower loses most of his important starters but gets them to the playoffs, he'll be hailed as a genius. If he gets guys like Reed back, and sees a healthier team but gets to the playoffs and loses in an embarrassing fashion, well, maybe Policy will think The Flower has wilted.

But my god, LeFleur's got to fix that offensive line. All playcalling looks horrible when it doesn't work - can't work - because the offensive line can't open a hole or give the QB a reasonable pocket from which to throw.

And Love needs to be able to see the field. I've seen QB's who are surrounded by defensive linemen at very close range, to the point you can't even see the QB, but the ball comes rocketing out of there and boom, it's a completion. Love isn't that guy. Rodgers was a master at shifting around in the pocket. Favre early on wasn't afraid at all. Love seems to need a clearer field of vision. And once he bails, then receivers react and change routes, so he has to look for them, but often these days he's looking at the defenders in front of him. So he needs a bigger field of vision. Having the deeper dropbacks helped. But still, the offensive line has to be fixed.

Jacobs is now two yards and cloud of dust, as my father used to say. That's not scaring anybody.

And on third downs that are passing downs (anything over three yards), how about putting Brooks in there? He's a good blocker - priority #1 - and he can catch a ball and get you that five yards. Is he as good in the open field as Jacobs? No, of course not. But at this point, I'd be willing to give that up to have a better blocker back there, since the offensive line has allowed so much pressure up the middle. And with a good run blocker in Kraft out for the year, how about some two back formations so Brooks can lead the way, since Morgan, Jenkins, and Banks were all letting their guys get into the backfield right away. At least Brooks could take care of one of them and let Jacobs get to the LOS before he gets hit.

We have to give LeFleur credit for the Halfley hire - that seems to be his best hire. So much so that Matty's looking at his ipad thing during the game, not even watching the defense.

Fix the offensive line, and the rest will follow. But how do you fix that offensive line? Whew. They seem to have trained six guys at ___ and at right guard, but they don't seem to have trained anyone at ___ and left guard. I guess they thought Jenkins had that covered.

Guter also needs to be discussed. He's got this team at the edge of sal cap purgatory, in part because of his terrible, terrible Hobbs and Banks signings. Both those players are limited in the positions they play - Hobbs is not an outside corner, we find, and Banks isn't even a left guard, Guter deserves some heat here as well.
