PB and Joe, you guys sound like my friends who dump on me because I have sexual fantasies about Drew Barrymore.

Josh Meyers is Tex's Drew Barrymore. Let him have his fantasies. His loins ache "for the old days of Meyers at Center and Jenkins and Tom at Guard."

      That's Tex's dirty talk. A roleplay fantasy.

Besides, I posited some wild shit, too. But how wild is that? Youse guys who know more than I do, weigh in. Is it completely ridiculous to completely reshuffle your offensive line over halfway into the season?

Probably, I'm thinking. But I'm looking for this offense to find a way out of this funk.

I think it is. I think they have to hope Banks can play decent (he had 2 decent games before bad game vs Eagles) and hope Rhyan can handle C. But the most important thing is MLF needs to recognize he doesn't have the OL he thought he would have and get more creative. Stop running Jacobs on 1st and 2nd down and having Love pass on 3rd down.

I would be OK with runs on second and long (except for the predictability) if the short passing game was working.

That makes sense. He has what he has as far as the offensive line. So playcalling that accommodates for that is probably the best solution.

I would, as PB has suggested, use Brooks more, either on more passing downs, or in an I formation with Jacobs. Brooks can block, and can be an outlet, too.

Also, how about designed rollouts occasionally? It cuts your field in half, but it opens up Love's field of vision. The deeper dropbacks toward the end of the Philly game seemed to help Love, too.

I avoided this thread because its ridiculous. I'll finally answer the title question. Keep breathing. Unless he drops dead he is the top coach in GB next year.

So you are expecting an off-season extension?

100%. Things would have to implode badly for him to be moved. Missing the playoffs wouldn't be enough IMO.

The Packers now have a President who did not hire either Gute or MLF. That makes it harder to predict.

I guess it was Runyan, not Tom, at Guard with Jenkins while Meyers was Center.

The guy is gone now, and I don't give a damn about him, but it's undeniable that when we had that combination for the interior O Line, we ran hugely better inside, and there was a helluva lot less pass rush up the middle. I don't care if PF or analytics or whatever make Meyers seem bad. Observability makes him seem good.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

I don't believe teams don't usually let a head coach coach on the last year of their contract. Jerruh and McCarthy were an exception. They either extend the contract or get a new coach. So while doing nothing this year is an option, Policy will probably decide between firing or extending MLF. Perhaps a short extension?

Policy made a quite definitive statement about not letting the HC or GM go into a lame-duck season. He as much as said a decision will be made before next season.

I guess the lame duck label adds pressure that doesn't benefit anyone, but if you are on record saying that and then give him a 1 year extension isn't it effectively putting said pressure right back on him? I can't say how it plays out but firing LeFleur would be absolutely insane at this point. Gutes on the other hand.....

If I were predicting today what happens I think you nailed it.

Gutegag and Flower get a one year extensition and the pressure is back on them.

TRUTH BE TOLD, neither of them deserves are 4 year extension.

GUTEBAG really shit the bed in free agency.

And the Flower looks lost; but part of that is the personnell changes made by Gutegag.

If we had to choose (perhaps anoother poll i coming) one coach to retrain, would it even be the Flower ?
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER
