In recent years, you would usually win if you bet the over on the Packers. Last year was not one of those years.Originally posted by texaspackerbacker View PostI'll definitely take the OVER on that.I can't run no more

It’s unLikely they’ll sign him.Originally posted by bobblehead View PostSince the cap is a suggestion we should definitely sign about 5 of these guys. But seriously Linderbaum would solve a lot of issues. And Isaih Likely is a pretty talented guy who was sort of stuck behind Andrews.
Can they afford to sign Lindebaum? Is Jacob Monk in play as a starter? Is there a college center who could come in and start and play well as a rookie?
Sounds like they’re not going to find a nose tackle in FA."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

Weak center draft. At least last year they thought Rhyan was more playable than Monk. Its a hole. More NT available in the draft and not as desperate of a need. Just my 2 cents.Originally posted by Fritz View PostIt’s unLikely they’ll sign him.

Rhyan, bad as he was at Guard, was pretty decent at Center. To me, that says that it's a lot easier to play with quality as a Center, and it shouldn't be that hard to find or cross train somebody. The main problem with Rhyan going forward is he seemed pretty seriously injured. Anybody know what his health status is?
What I definitely don't want is a shrimp at Center - somebody who was an undersized but pretty good college Center. What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

Illinois governor JB Pritzker says a “broad agreement” is in place with the Bears for a new stadium in Arlington Heights.
Updated legislation would allow the Bears to negotiate the amount it pays in property taxes at their new stadium site.
A committee hearing to decide this is scheduled for Thursday morning.I can't run no more

So you don't think Center requires any specialized skills? And that Guard is more complex?Originally posted by texaspackerbacker View PostRhyan, bad as he was at Guard, was pretty decent at Center. There are a couple bad snaps from Rhyan late in the season I think we need to review.
Rhyan was more effective than Jenkins run blocking on the interior. He was less effective pass blocking. Overall, it was a tick up for him at a new position.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

And yet I don't see a solution to our center problem unless the top projected FA actually becomes an FA and we offer him more money than anyone else is willing to.Originally posted by pbmax View PostSo you don't think Center requires any specialized skills? And that Guard is more complex?

The #Titans are releasing starting center Lloyd Cushenberry, sources say, moving on from a former big-ticket free agent from 2024.
He signed a 4-year, $50M deal two years ago and was due $8M this season. Now, Cam Ward will have a new center.I can't run no more

What has to happen for a FA to not count against comp picks? Is street free agent enough?Originally posted by Joemailman View PostA name to throw into the mix:

Cushenberry was released with a 'failed physical' designation. Not a great sign for a picking him up. But if he gets healthy by OTA's he might be worth a cheap flier on.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostA name to throw into the mix:

That "tick up" is basically what I said. Was he less effective at pass blocking? I question that. Less effective maybe than Myers, but I don't think worse than Jenkins. As for the bad snaps, shit happens. I doubt it happened any more or less with Rhyan than most others playing Center.Originally posted by pbmax View PostSo you don't think Center requires any specialized skills? Annual reminder that released free agents don't count against the compensatory pick formula... I always note that when thinking about who GB may be more likely to target.I can't run no more
