He wouldn't be obligated to sign anything. But he just might get an offer he is really interested in. Zero downside for either party involved. And no team would be obligated to send a pick. It literally obligates no one to anything, but lets teams get a jumpstart on talking with him. Its a 3 way win. The packers lose ZERO for allowing him to get out there.Originally posted by pbmax View PostThat's also exactly the reason Willis would be nuts to do it..The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

Its just the math. No team is going to pony up more money and draft picks. If they are willing to pony up the money, they just wait.Originally posted by bobblehead View PostHe wouldn't be obligated to sign anything. But he just might get an offer he is really interested in. The only position a team might be googly eyed enough to try this with might be QB. But its the most expensive option and I doubt teams would choose it.
Plus you have to defer the bonuses until after the trade which is a risk for the player. It almost would have to be guaranteed money.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

The only way that would work at this point is if the Packers put a franchise tag on him, to retain some level of ongoing team control. Right now, they have no team control.Originally posted by bobblehead View PostI think the Packers should allow Willis agent to talk to other teams right now for a sign and trade 3rd rounder in this draft. Pretty sure it would be legal. No downside whatsoever for the Packers even if it results in him reaching an agreement with a team and waiting for FA to sign it we are right back where we started, and you never know if a team will bite to ink him before other teams have a shot.

It would be anti Gutebag to bring in veteran players over the age of 30 with exception of kickers, punters, and long snappers.Originally posted by Patler View PostThere are some interesting older DL FAs in the twilights of their careers who might be available more cheaply for limited roles. Chubb, Mack, Bosa and Campbell all might enjoy playing with Parsons.
Do you honestly think he considers, many, if any, players over 30 ?TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

We could fix our OL really quickly be bringing in #3, one of the best centers in the game, and from Iowa.
Then next year we dump Banks for cap savings.TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Looks like we could score 2 thirds and 2 5ths if things fall as expected. But Gutes will sign someone to negate at least one of those picks as I think you can only get 3?? Or is it more?
Edit: and since the cap isn't real and can be cooked we should probably sign about 5 of the top 15 guys on that list. The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

We should be able to get both Pickens and Hendrickson for only 6 mil against the cap. /sarcasmOriginally posted by bobblehead View PostLooks like we could score 2 thirds and 2 5ths if things fall as expected. Tauscher was talking about exactly this earlier today. Feels when Packers had really good offensive lines, they always had an outstanding Center. Bulaga agreed.Originally posted by Bretsky View PostWe could fix our OL really quickly be bringing in #3, one of the best centers in the game, and from Iowa.

Off course he considers players over 30, ... but just long enough to write "NO!" after their names on his free agent spreadsheet!Originally posted by Bretsky View PostIt would be anti Gutebag to bring in veteran players over the age of 30 with exception of kickers, punters, and long snappers.

Don’t see a thread - but interesting updates from Indiana today. Seems more likely that the Chicago Bears are going to Hammond, Indiana… about 20-25min from Soldier Field. The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.

Apparently, the IN legislature is putting serious effort into creating a sports entertainment district to make it happen. The IL legislature cancelled their meeting scheduled for today to discuss possible incentives for the Bears in Arlington. The two states seem to be moving in opposite directions.Originally posted by Fosco33 View PostDon’t see a thread - but interesting updates from Indiana today.
