Or, and I'm just spit balling here, he shouldn't have signed the contract last season if he didn't want to play for that contract. Just sayin' I'd tell him to pound sand and any negotiations will be an extension or he can go ahead and sit, pout, take a knee, or whatever entitled guys who can't stay on the field do now days.

They must think Kelly is pretty good, as the Packers have a lot of quality and quantity at Edge already.

I think (more like hope) Maryland is kept as a TE or hybrid. I also hope Sturdevant makes it. And Drones should be the third QB/probably practice squad. I also wouldn't be surprised if Jaden Nixon makes it as a kick returner/backup RB.

Beyond that, not much there IMO.

I would think the first four guys on that list have a reasonable chance of making the squad. The competition for backup spots on the offensive line is going to be intense. And Sturdivant, if he can show he can play ST well, might be the team's sixth receiver. Don't know if Brenton Cox or Aaron Mosby are sweating Kelly's arrival.

The person floating a rumor of Brown for Watson + R2 is delusional and probably just some clickbait from "AI Slop Sports". I thought the current worst-kept secret is that Brown is going to NE post-June1 to make it work cap-wise for everyone. Back to the rumor with GB though... Watson showed up for the offseason stuff, it doesn't sound like he's going to "hold in". Unlike Brown, he's in his prime and cheaper. They let Doubs and Wicks go so they would have a more established pecking order in the WR room. It's nonsense.

Yeah, I'm looking for a career change at age 79 hahahaha.

I'm just pointing out the stupid crap and the likely motivation of these outsider media pukes looking to raid a super talent from the Packers for the benefit of their damn eastern team.

The Packers have been at or near the top of the league for decades by NOT doing stupid shit like this. And no, it's not the same as the Parsons trade, which should still end up benefiting the Packers.
Spreading gossip and rumors almost like some of those media "shitheads" ? And Yes, TPB, by repeating crap you give it legs. Maybe your a media "shithead" wanna be in real normal american clothing ?

The only slight positive in that deal is that the Packers will get a better return on their investment in a former Jets QB than the Jets have from former Packers QB's

    Tyrod Taylor's contract details: https://packerswire.usatoday.com/sto...r/89976708007/

According to Spotrac, the one-year deal signed by Taylor is worth a value of $2.5 million, with a $700,000 signing bonus, $500,000 available in incentives and a 2026 cap number of $2.88 million.

The signing bonus is the only guaranteed money in the deal. Taylor can also make $500,000 in total per-game roster bonuses, but only $388253 will count against the cap in 2026. His base salary will be $1,300,000, the minimum for a player with 10 or more accrued seasons.

By cap number, Taylor will rank 48th among quarterbacks in 2026 -- making him one of the more affordable backup quarterbacks.

I would scoff at this but the last time you and I disagreed about rumors we ended up with Parsons. So I guess we will see.

DJ Reader signed with the Giants finally. Another big signed with Seattle. Not sure how many more DL will be Packer bound before camp.

And the money he got points to bare minimum starter. I'd like more than that, but I am not sure outside of the dentist what is left on the market at that price that would improve the situation. And Van Ness could fulfill last year's mini-jump up. Via Mosqueda and Acme Packers:

This was an expected move, as the edge rusher market has moved in recent years, putting Van Ness’ 2027 figure in the borderline starter range. For example, former Packers edge rusher Kingsley Enagbare, who hit free agency and signed with the New York Jets this offseason, is expected to be the Jets’ third edge rusher despite being on a one-year, $10 million contract for the upcoming season.
