  • More Banjo; Packers beatdown Vikes, 2025.

Apologies to Joe, I think he was at the game?.

Question: the run game looked/felt better today. Was the Rhyan/Belton combo working better than previous combos?

    Bobble? PB? Thoughts?

Wasn't at the game, but was traveling after the game.

Packers defense with 7 TFL's and 10 QB hits. Most importantly, didn't let Aaron Jones do a Lambeau Leap. You know it's a good day when McDuffie gets a pick. His career first.

Thought the offense was boring. I'll take the win though.

Looks like Packers may have found their RG of the future. Yeah, I know it's only 1 game.

Surprised McCarthy looks so bad with the weapons he has.

It's hard to figure how much of the improvement was Packers O Line getting better or Vikings D stinking it up. Rhyan has been a LOT better as a Center than he was at Guard. I'd even say he was better there than Jenkins. I was thinking Morgan was doing really good at RG, then I realized it was Belton, not him. I've been hoping to see more of Belton, and he really came through today ...... unless it was just the Vikings fucking up.

Our DBs seemed to play a lot better too - unless it was just their young QB messing up.

Our pass D really seemed to get better when Nixon went out. Similarly, our LB play seemed a lot better without Quay Walker. I don't recall McDuffie ever playing as well as he played today ....... unless it was just weakness on the part of the Vikings,

I didn't like LaFleur's ultra-cautious play calling, but we won the game and fairly handily, so I can't complain too much ....... again, unless it only worked because the Vikings were so bad.

The Packers special teams looked better today too than I've seen them for quite a while. Real improvement or just getting a little bit lucky? I guess we'll see if it continues against other teams.

Our pass rush was actually getting home today in the second half anyway, not just "warning track power" ....... or was it just McCarthy and rotten O Line play? A shout out to O'Connell, their coach, for getting away from what they were doing that was working in the first half.

Anyway, it was a good game, not just a win that seems like a loss like several others we've had.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

Belton (336 pounds) with 45 snaps to Morgan's 20. Darian Kinnard (322 pounds) with 21 snaps at TE. With Banks (325 pounds) and Rhyan (321 pounds), that's a lot of size out there.

deleted. Can't link a great image from reddit of Micah being triple teamed. I noticed it live and laughed. I think it the tackle, with I think the guard and Aaron Jones helping out!

Belton at RG looked a little rough around the edges, he whiffed on one pass pro and on some second level blocks looked lost trying to cut off pursuit. But he looked big, large and immovable when he got his mitts on people. A nice change of pace. A double team with him moved some folks around including the guy FOX was trying to praise out of their production meetings.

He's going to have to get used to people crossing his face on the inside, making quick adjustments on protection calls and A gap pressure. One reason I think we did not see a lot of passing later in the game was the get Belton some experience run blocking and for the offense to use that jumbo formation. I think they wanted to put that on tape for the Lions as well as using it against the Vikes.

That's the second reason I think LaFleur turned into 3 yards and a cloud of dust is the short turnaround for the Lions. He's got Watson back and didn't want to open the entire playbook. Didn't want to reveal all he can do with Belton in there. Its not my favorite move but I think he has done this before.

Wilson looked great at RB and he and Brooks are just a different league of pass blocker than Jacobs. I'm glad Jacobs got a week off. They will need him.

McDuffie played well. Folks were closing out of the short passes well. McCarthy wasnt helping with slow decision making.

I am a little worried about the passing game still, even as it was a step better than last week. Nothing comes easy for that part of the offense recently.

Nixon getting hurt doesn't help. Players shouldn't be that close to the playing field on the sideline.

Hard to come to other conclusions because at least half this game was prep for the Lions.

Super weird have a GIANT RG and a tiny RT but hey, if it works it works. I kinda like Melton at either of those spots. I guess it comes down to where Zach Tom wants to play and will see the most success since he already got paid. Assuming Melton can move, I assume he would be a good RT based on his size alone. He is a giant.

Belton. Melton would be kind of undersized.

Watch what Belton does to his guy on the Wilson TD after the punt turnover. Its not fast, its not perfect technique, but it is OVER for his guy.

I just read that Love has a slightly separated left shoulder, so The Fliwer might’ve been trying to protect Love by not exposing him to the pass rush very much.

Anthony, he’s Belton people. Nice. I hope with practice and experience he’ll get better at understanding the calls and his responsibilities.

Make him the starting RG, I say. Have a seat, Jordan Morgan.

While watching the game I noted that our OL, while not blowing guys off the line, were staying engaged with defenders. A defender engaged with a large man has trouble multi tasking into making tackles. Wilson wasn't squared up at the line more than a couple times that I saw. Belton is a physical presence. We finally have the beef I envisioned on draft day. What took so fucking long?

I saw it and was outright pissed. We had 3 guys 1 on 1 and not one of them could get to the QB.

Should Willis start vs the Lions? Give Love 13 days to get his shoulder well?

Everyone complained about the number of runs. It’s because Love’s shoulder and the minimal downfield passes.

Why risk it on a short week. The injury will only affect us more.

Willis can hand the call off. And he can run and make some plays.

If the giants can’t almost beat the Lions, we can too.
