We have no choice. That injury hurts. Jones plays Drivers position so he should get a lot of balls this year. Maybe Favre will look to Jennings more with Driver out as well.

we HAD choices and decided to pass on them. Literally. This is what happens to you when you put all your eggs in one basket. You need to PLAN for shit like this.

Oh, but wait. That's part of my BUSINESS training... Nevermind. Carry on.
Who might you have signed out of free agency that would be better than our 4th receiver? I can't name a name. I want an answer!

Are you serious; I'm at peace with all this. But it's nuts to say there was nobody better than our #4 WR

Without even looking at the list of free agents

      Donte Stallworth
      Drew Bennett
      Kevin Curtis.

Homerism aside, all established and clearly better than Ruvell Martin. Worth the price ? Who knows. But they were better.
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Parts of the team looked good. Somewhat promising. I have always maintained that it is not enough for a playoff run, and I still feel that way, but we might actually get a fair amount of progress this year. I was hoping for that last year, but, in spite of the 4 game win streak didn't feel like it happened.

We'll see. I'm looking forward to the Eagles. It'll give us a much better idea of where this team is really at.

for the first time in several years I'm really encouraged about special teams. While that may sound stupid, I really am.

          Personally, I don't.
Not until we beat a playoff team in the regular season.

Are you kidding? We didn't win the SB last year, so no, no respect this year. National press are airheads who supposedly look good on TV. I could argue that point as well.

            • Anna sprained her foot back in March. Still can't run full speed on it yet.

Foot sprains take a damn long time to heel and they hurt like a mother. The ligaments get all stretched and nasty. This can lead to arches collasping and that has all sorts of problems on its own.

We fail to get respect from alot of people here. If they can keep this up in the regular season, the respect will come.

                  • As long as we have Driver back by late-September, early-October, I think we can manage. We're going to miss him, though. Jones is going to become the go-to-guy. That scares me, a bit.

                    • it also depends on how bad the sprain is. Also pros have better doctors and equipment than you and I or other people you know. these guys recover faster. Look at like Palmer tearing his knee and coming back in a year normal people cant do that

This pretty much is consistent with what I have heard of sprained feet. They can take a looooooong time to heal.

Donte Stallworth sure. But, he is going to command first receiver money. Did we really want to pay a second first receiver when we have jennings?!? He is a good player but I question the impact he'd have on our team.

Drew Bennett is just a guy. Getting up there in age, too.

Kevin Curtis is fast but unproven. Didn't do a lot in STL.

I agree they're better than Ruvell. But are they better than DD, Jennings and JJ? Would it have been worth the price? I doubt it. All of those guys got huge, inflated salaries for very little performance. Bennett's performance was almost by default because who else did McNair and co over the past few years have to throw to?

For what its worth, solid rebuttle. I completely forgot about Curtis and Stallworth being free agents. But, RG was implying we should have a 1b to cope with the injury. None of these guys are 1b imo. They might even be 2b behind The Natural.

The Natural is a nickname I am starting for Greg Jennings. I'm taking it global.

                          • Given our receiving corps though, you have to admit Driver doesn't have to be full speed to make a major contribution. If he's 85% and not at risk of reinjuring himself, he'll be on the field.

                            • I probably started a lot of the ill will. YOu have sarcasm that annoys the piss out of me so I probably made it a bigger deal than it is.

I still think tehy have a team that is capable of the playoffs. They've outplayed some good teams this preseason. It's not time to panic but this is as close to panic as I've gotten all off season. This injury hurts. Hopefully Brett gets real comfortable with his other WR's and then when Driver comes back everyone is better for it. I think that Jennings and Jones both have better hands than Driver. If FAvre throws them the ball (and he has to now), I think they can make plays.

Very, very long time. Very painful to get around. They better keep taking X-rays because Lisfrac is often missed when examining a swollen foot that is the by-product of a sprained foot. The doctors at UW hospital thought she broke a bone but it turned out she did not.
