At least, that's what they'd like you to believe. I guess I'd be worried for them if that's how they truly felt. Let's see 36-year-old Brett Favre or 37-year-old Brad Johnson.

I have a hard time believing Brad Childress wouldn't be absolutely giddy if the Packers called him up and offered a swap of starting QBs.
All things considered -age, mobility, discipline, familiarity with system and org, contracts(Favre 10M Johnson 1M) and desire to play beyond this season, I don't think they would want to switch. That being said, Madtown was commenting from the point of fans, and my being one of them, I wouldn't want that switch either. Both teams are better off as is.

You may not, but I bet most would, deep down. Would you rather have a guy that you know wouldn't be able to lead an average team (like the Vikes) to the title, or take the chance that Favre just had a down year (maybe it was injuries and the fact that the team was eliminated early since he actually had a good first 6-7 games when they still had a chance)? Vikes fans have publicly mocked Favre for years, but I'm sure most of them would have loved to have #4 the last 15 years (including this year over what they have).

In his prime, absolutely. But now, where is there QB that can lead an avg team to the title? I don't know of any. Make the team better, possibly. But I don't know that Johnson couldn't do what needs to be done with a good team. He doesn't make many mistakes, and nowadays that can be good enough. And Vikes fans mock Favre because he is a Packer, they would probably have all the same feelings you guys have about him if he were on this side, so I agree with you there. Favre may be more popular to those fans than Johnson if you switched this year, but that is because their styles are so different. Johnson plays safe, mistake free for the most part i.e boring. Favre can be exciting and create on his own. Both styles can be good, both can be bad.

I can honestly say that is NOT the case. You definately have work to do if you ever want to think like the enemy.

Brett Favre is to John Kennedy what Brad Johnson is to Dan Quayle.

At various points in his career, some Viking fans thought more highly of Warren Moon, Brad Johnson, Randall Cunningham, Daunte Culpepper, and Brad Johnson again than Favre. Or, at least, that's what they will tell you.

and last but not least....Tarvaris Jackson

                        lets review...
                        B. Johnson-38 years old and not gifted with a great arm
                        Mike McMahon-no talent assclown
J.T. o'Sullivan-Packer reject and no talent assclown #2
                        Tarvaris Jackson-who?

I'd rather have Aaron Rodgers if I were you.
To much of a good thing is an awesome thing

You make a very compelling point.

As much as they want to believe in Tarvaris Jackson, Aaron Rodgers was much more highly rated coming out of college. They'd be idiots not to want him on the team over what they have.

No one cares how strong Johnson's arm is. Only that he win. He's one of the few SB winners. Makes him qualified in my book, no matter how little I think of guys like Dilfer. Also shows that different styles can win too. McMahon, who cares. O'Sullivan, who cares. Your boy Rodgers, who cares. Oh wait, you will if he has to play.

So, you'd rather have Brad Johnson than Brett Favre and Tarvaris Jackson than Aaron Rodgers?

You defeated your own argument with the Dilfer comment. Johnson won on a team that had one of the best defenses in history--like Dilfer. He has about as much chance as Mark Brunell at leading a team like the Vikings to the Super Bowl.
