Maybe MM was teaching a lesson for the rest of the season at the expense of this game. I don't really think that, but it might turn out that way.
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

    • Well it was a hell of run. We laughed for 8 games and today we cry but I can live with 4-1 because the season is not over.

I will confess, I came knowing what would happen when I got on the plane. I thought "this winning streak started when I went to see them in San Fran, I think I am going to GB to end it."

      Funny how shit comes true.

Well, IMO, it seems idiotic to pull the game from someone like Favre after one bonehead pass. And yes, what back up plan did he have......if he was actually trying to make a point.

Favre looked pissed tonight. Like when he was pissed MM called TO. Was that right before the half? When was the pick? I don't even remember

Things in Green Bay may not be as they seem.

Brett seems easily agitated esp tonight and then he just knew that the tide had turned.

Most of us knew that game was lost, tied 20-20.

            Brett Favre certainly did.

Why take the ball out of his hands on so many handoffs when he is passing lights out.

            • our biggest weekness's are that we still dont have a real good nickleback, Poppinga is still very, very average and i dont think our scheme helps our safties out at all.. we dont seem to put them into positions to make them successful like we did in recent years cuz i really do believe collins and bigby have some major talent thats not being fully used

man, I can't pin this loss on the defense, they did fine. The offense kept turning the ball over and three-and-outing.

I kept reading all week interviews with MM and he's saying the Pack wasn't going to kick away from Hester. Jeez, that was embarrasing! Man the frick up! Kick the ball and go smack his little ass in to the Lambeau Turf. I'd rather the little SOB run one back than play sissy-style.

Someone said earlier that they were not a 16-0 football team. That is exactly the truth. We'll probably lose 4 or 5 more and it will suck every time. The bright side is it was correctable slop and that nobody really got hurt.
I'll try not to worry too. A win vs Redskins is the only cure. Redskins D is as turnover opportunistic as the Bears D. Packers killed themselves every thinkable way possible and Bears are really the smart ones here. Football is about outsmarting your opponant and Bears surely did that.

Now comes another smart team, the Redskins, will Packers raise their play or go into dumb mode?

Favre is 3-0 versus Redskins, wow, Packers have only played the Skins 3 times the last 16 seasons! And it's a NFC team!

You might be right. They've played pretty average against some pretty average offenses. They certainly havn't been playing top 5 or even top 10 football. Just above average seems accurate.
If this turns out to be true, I guess your prognosticating skills will turn out to be "overrated" as well, Mr. Top5.

Pot calling the kettle black...Mr. 1-5 at the Bye... 2-4 you'd be "surprised", and 3-3 you'd be "doing cartwheels"...

Notwithstanding the obvious hypocrisy, disrespecting other posters isn't very "civilized," is it RG? I guess it just depends which shoe fits your foot...

                          Why?

They held Benson to about 2 yds/carry. He also had 2 big runs in there, so on average he was rushing for far less per attempt. Their run defense was nothing short of excellent.

They didn't get a ton of pressure but Chicago has a good offensive line.

They were sucking wind in the 4th when Chicago was driving on them and converted on the big 3rd and 1 for the TD. The offense did not stay on the field at all during the second half. I believe before the last drive SF mentioned they had 1 first down total.

How can you blame the defense in that situation?!?!?!? They played pretty darn good. They also had to back their corners off quite a bit since they keep getting flagged for illegal contact.

That Barnett facemask was stupid. That was just another example of a bad decision.

I have not had the energy to read this thread but it appears I'd agree with JH here.

Dominating defenses create turnovers. Our defense played fine. Were in the top 10 area. But playmakers; that is what was missing on defense Sunday. They did well against the Chicago offense, but I thought they would dominate them.
