  • Crow Served For Dinner

Everybody grab a fork and eat up.

I thought Vernand Morency would have 1500 yards by seasons end behind a greatly improved offensive line. While the season isn't over and thus we can't completely rule it out, its safe to say Morency will be closer to 150 yards than 1500. Boy, was I ever wrong on that one.

Everybody grab a bite and share a story.

I will eat crow for saying Morency will be a 1,000 yard back.

A few of you guys should be eating some crow for doubting that Ruvell Martin can be an effective receiver.

    I never doubted you, Ruvell.

I was secretly worried that we'd suck this year. I deserve a kick in the ass for my lack of faith.

Is this kind of like a crow confessions thread ? Here's my crow; and I'm more than happy to eat it for this one

I thought TT's approach to free agency, or lack of it, would result in this team having little to no chance to make the playoffs. I underestimated TT's overall performance.

        BTW, good thread idea.

HEY, THIS ISN'T ONE OF THOSE I TOLD YOU SO THREADS

We both agree that he's the best #5 receiver in the NFL. To me that is right where he should be

Me being a silly Packer fan....I think I'll browse down past the Ruvell molested thread and past the Moss thread and go way beyond the Wrex thread and re-read the James Jones stuff... It's good to be 8-1..

Given Favre's statistics the last two years, I was beginning to question whether or not he really did give us a better chance to win than Aaron Rodgers

I will eat crow by predicting the Packers would finish 9-7 and privately thinking (Why the hell am I making such a "high" number of wins? Am trying to be too much of a PC Packer fan when I really feel they will be 6-10?)

I thought Alcorn would be a player. I also thought Morency was gonna step in without the O missing a beat..

I thought Morency and Brandon Jackson would be an effective 1-2 punch at RB.

I thought Cullen Jenkins would be playing (and putting up numbers) at a Pro Bowl level. Hasn't happened, although it's not too late.

I thought he'd be close. He certainly looked the part last year and in pre-season. For whatever reason, we never hear about his injuries but when we do they always seem fairly severe. Seems to me that much like Al he should be resting but he is gutting it out to keep KGB in his specialist role (thats whats best for the team)

Effective? Hmm, I think that is open to debate. Our 5th receiver vs. their 5th db.

I thought Brandon Jackson would be decisive at hitting holes, and be a dynamic threat in the short passing game. I also thought he wouldn't get tackled by dirt.

I'm at the table with you on that meal, Bretsky. I was superpissed about not getting Moss, BUT I thought Wynn would be the steal of the draft. God was I wrong on both counts, BUT I was one of the first ones to see something in Ryan Grant after the screen pass in week two coupled with all the "he reminds us a lot of Dorsey Levens" comments.

Also, I was expecting big thangs out of Greg Jennings after I saw his footage from his record setting days at Western Michigan, BUT I was kinda pissed they didnt let him start as a KR and give him time to come along slowly while TTT let Gardner, Fergy and Borighter shoulder the receiving load.

So, I have a bit of overcooked rancid and festering crow to chow on from last season too....
