Bad analogy in my opinion. We are not employees, we are the “talent”.....all of us. If all the “employees/talent” leave, there will be no forum. I suppose it could be looked at as owner/boss and employees, but it is more like a NFL team, and we are all free agents at all times.

It is a symbiotic relationship, we need each other. But in reality, the forum needs us more than we need the forum. This is not a slam on the new owner guy, just an observation on forums. Look at the old JSO, everyone scattered. Granted, it rebuilt itself, but they have a good feeder system (the newspaper). Ok, last word on this thread.

I've let everybody vent, and I've let this thread go on far too long. The last several pages were an experiment for me to see if anyone would admit that they even have a small part of the issues in the forum. Nobody did. In fact, the denials were quite vocal. That's about what I expected.

I believe in keeping confidences. I get dozens of PM's. Have never disclosed one of them, and won't, unless I get permission from the folks PM'ing me. We had one member openly leave us in this thread, and I'm disappointed to see that. Quite honestly, if mraynrand wants to make censorship of a non football related banner on a football website as the mountain he must stand on, I guess I'll reluctantly let him do that. We'd probably lose him on something else anyhow. I kid you not that I have 2 dozen PM's of folks taking a break for various reasons related to the three folks I called out publicly in this thread. That concerns me more.

Skinbasket - I am not going to detail my plans to you. I don't owe you that. You had an opportunity to get involved in the direction of this site, in fact, I came to you first because I believed (and still do) that you are a creative genius. I've seen the artwork that you developed and was very impressed. But your terms are not appealing and the other stuff one has to put up with to have you posting here are a definite concern for me. Finally, I'm absolutely clueless what you were referring to when you told me that "God was watching". It isn't unusual that I miss your point, but on this one, you have me completely lost.

Tyrone - Your constant insistence that I'm not "being fair" is duly noted. Unfortunately I don't use your definition of "fairness". I have one of my own, and in my world, you've had multiple second chances. I have no sympathy at all for your plight and believe I have been more than fair to you.

Partial - I'm unsure why you "bowed out" of this discussion but I laud you for doing so. I do disagree as to whether or not your points have been interpreted incorrectly, though. I get what you're doing, I think pretty right on. I wish you would calm down and drop the constant arguing. I'd have liked to take advantage of your offers for help. Some I was not interested in at all, but a few had merit to me. Right now, I can't envision putting my trust in you, but I never say never.

Guys, I'm not warning any of you again. If I have to, I will deactivate accounts, but I don't take that decision lightly with folks that have the tenure that you do. Any reasonably new member would have been gone dozens of times if they had done some of the things you guys have done.

Finally, I did take the website down before the new one was ready. I didn't anticipate it would take so long for me to get things right, but it has. That's my responsibility. I'm not concerned with a bunch of new members right now, those will become important in time, but honestly, if we can't keep the membership that we have, the new ones won't stay either. We still have new members coming in, as we have a few folks who are very complimentary when discussing this site at other forums. I've read your statements, and please know that I appreciate them very much.

We have a new website and forum on the way, I'd like to give you a timeframe, but my last attempt at that didn't go very well, so just believe me when I tell you that it is important to me. Most of the "member accounts" from the offseason before I took the website down were SPAM accounts. One small benefit of the lack of a web presence is that the SPAM issues are cut down. They'll return, but right now, I'm enjoying the breather.

I'm locking the thread now as there really isn't anything else to discuss. If you have comments, please PM me. Contrary to Tyrone's claim, I do return most PM messages. Sometimes I determine that I am being "told" something and not "asked" so I might not respond, and in Tyrone's case, I can never have the last word, so everytime he PM's me, at some point I must stop, because there is always a reply. (I'm not joking). Most of his PM's have been responded to.
