VEGAS VACATION

Had a great time in Vegas and for anybody going here are some thoughts

Went to the following shows

CarrotTop--Honestly thought he's suck but best show in Vegas for comedy. Everybody who went to see him that he was hilariously funny for both sexes. My wife's mascara was running all over her face as she was crying of laughter

Frank Caliendo- Front Row Tix; he mocked me a bit. Met the guy and he's actually kind of quite. Solid show for both sexes.

Fantasy- Wifey wanted to see a Burlesque show and who am I to say no. Nice mix of comedy and hooties. Skin warned me about a couple shows that we avoided. This one was decent

Chris Angel- Sucked Donkey Balls. He was trrribble, and Caliendo used when imitating Charles Barkley. The worst 90 minutes in Vegas. Just Trrible

Shark Exhibit and Mand. Bay--Decent; better if you like fish of all kinds. If that stuff interests you it's cool; but you might be a bit bored as well

Titanic Exhibit--Worth going to.
Some great artifacts and pretty well put together

In terms of gambling, the Party Pit at the Luxor Rocked. About fifteen tables for blackjack circled a large stage of which hottied danced with a very very short skirt, high boots, and a bikini top. Changing my karma to gamble within my comfort zone allowed me to make money.

The places I lost money at lacked karma.

Overall had a great time. I'd pay to see CarrotTop tomorrow again if I could; awesome show live.

Geno's Cheese Steaks

Penn's Landing

Soft Pretzels

Congress Hall

Independence Hall

And if the birthplace of the Declaration of Independence has you feeling too giddy, visit 6221 Osage Avenue, the row house where the MOVE organization was living when police dropped a four pound bomb on the rooftop to destroy two structures. Row houses apparently are susceptible to such tactics and the whole block burned down.

You probably did your taxes by yourself, and did not figure out schedule M, which is the "making work pay" form.

The IRS recognized that you filled out your return yourself, and fixed it for you at no charge.

As silly as it sounds, we had a great time in Indianapolis one weekend 3 summers ago.

they've got a little man made canal in the middle of the city, we rented bikes and rode along it for several hours. Got a very nice room, at a reasonable rate (Hilton, I think), off of Hotwire, and then there is always the Museum of Art... Throw in a spendy little dinner at Ruth's Chris which is right downtown, and you've got a nice weekend, but you probably need to wait a month or so for it to warm up....

Cheap to be in or cheap to get to? Unless your destination is Mexico, the two may be mutually exclusive. But Baja California is always nice. And if you go via LA you might be able to catch the Mojave desert in bloom. Or maybe the Sonora would be worth it. Just watch out for the drug violence.

What are you skiing on these days Howard? I'm buying two new pairs this spring while things are on sale...one set of powder boards and then an all mountain (big) set. I normally buy a set of GS/Super G boards but will change it up a bit this time around. I love speed but just can't deal with the heavier snow on racing skis anymore. Hard to admit........

PHILADELPHIA -- A New Jersey man is facing charges after police say he intentionally vomited on an 11-year-old girl and her father in the stands during a Philadelphia Phillies game.

Twenty-one-year-old Matthew Clemmens, of Cherry Hill, N.J., was arraigned Friday on charges stemming from his behavior at Wednesday night's Phillies-Nationals game.

Police say Clemmens made himself vomit on an off-duty police captain and his daughter after a companion was kicked out for unruly behavior.

Easton police Capt. Michael Vangelo says he saw Clemmens put his fingers down his throat. Philadelphia police say Clemmens also punched Vangelo and vomited on an arresting officer.

Clemmens is in custody on charges including assault and harassment. Bail is $12,000. His listed phone number is disconnected.

I have 2 pair of Atomics. One I bought end of season up at Whistler a few years ago (looking at the skis I use proves how time flies when you get older), fattish, all-mountain (before everyone had all-mountain) Beta Ride 10-EX. And another pair of Atomic Beta Race Carv 9 20s. I was a Herman fan.

Nowadays my skiing money goes into kid's equipment more. I picked up a nice pair of Atomic Race 10s from a shop in Boulder. I think they do more tuning than selling, the guy gave me a great deal.

My best deal this spring though was some helmets from a guy in Denver. He was into promoting Bode Miller and had a basement full of Briko helmets with the Barilla logo on them. Bode was sponsored by Barilla during the mid 2000s....during the Italy Olympics, but they dropped him after his 60 Minutes interview, etc, drinking........you know the story. So, this guys has a bunch of $190 helmets (brand new in box) that he is selling for $20. Bought the next few sizes for the kids.

If you need a helmet check on Craigslist in Denver and search for Briko.

You go to the airport and they give you your boarding pass and then when you get to security, you tell them your wallet was stolen and they ask for a credit card and you remind them that your wallet was stolen, then they ask for the police report and they look at you like you're an idiot when you tell them that you thought it more important to cancel your credit cards before leaving for the airport and then they ask if you have any prescriptions in your bag with your name on them and you tell them that you put them in your checked bag so you wouldn't have to take them through security then they call over the head security guy who comes with a phone and then they quiz you about your life for about 20 minutes and then when they're satisfied that either you're you or you know enough about that person to credibly be them, then they pat you down and body scan you and you're done. Keep a secondary ID in your bag.

We came way early expecting to have to jump through a million hoops, but it just took longer to get through security and then you're automatically one of the people who gets body scanned and patted down. Once it was done we had time to go to the Chili's airside before boarding. I will still never again travel without a secondary ID and a couple bucks stuck in my luggage.

And somehow they left enough behind that I had to clean the little moron off the floor. Ew. No one with four feet is kissing me anytime soon.

On a side note, the cat's toilet training is coming right along, If I could only retrain the kid to keep the lid up. It's still ok, we're at the stage where you have the litter pan elevated to the level of the toilet. So my life has come to this. Toilet training a cat.

I like how pro-sport franchise owners convince moron politicians to build them a stadium. Then it's passed along to people visiting the town who will never see the joint???

Thanks for the kind words swede and mraynrand. You are right swede, things are very different now and these kids are really training hard. I just feel so bad for him. Maybe we will get some good news when he sees the ENT specialist on Tues. He was playing for 3 different teams this season....made the HS freshman team as an 8th grader, a traveling tournament team and still in Little League. Surprisingly enough he seems to be most bummed about Little League. At this level the all star team skips district level play and moves right to state level play and he was really looking forward to that. Who knows.......maybe? His coach came to the ER when we were there Fri. night and gave him some encouraging words....6 wks to heal. Just hope it didn't get his hopes up too much before we see the doc on Tues.

GrnBay007
06-13-2010, 04:43 PM
He was playing center field and running for a fly ball. He called it but apparently the kid playing right didn't hear him. He dove for the ball and I think the other kid must have looked down at the last minute and saw him there and then maybe tried to jump over him but put his knee right into my son's face. He was knocked out for a couple minutes. Lots of blood, mostly from the nose but some from his mouth too as he has braces. I thought for sure his jaw was broke. He can't talk very well cause he can't open his mouth very far. He's on liquids and soft foods for now. It's really unfortunate because he really didn't need to be there. He had already made the all star team based on his play throughout the season, but he went because he felt it was the right thing to do....that, and he never misses out on a chance to play ball.

He was fine with getting pampered Fri. and Sat. but today he's pretty grumpy and doesn't want to talk or be around anyone. Maybe it's all just sinking in? I don't know.

A Dane County man is the third person convicted in a scheme to dig up a dead woman so his brother could have sex with the body.

A Grant County court official says a jury deliberated about an hour today before finding Alexander C. Grunke, 24, of Mount Horeb guilty of third-degree sexual assault.

He was previously convicted on related charges of theft and criminal damage to a cemetery.

Authorities say he, his brother and another 23-year-old went to a Cassville cemetery in 2006 to remove the body of a 20-year-old woman killed a week earlier in a motorcycle crash. The 23-year-old told investigators Grunke's brother wanted to have sex with the body.

Grunke's attorney declined to comment until she could follow up with her client.

The shallow gene pool kind with bad teeth, thick glasses and a T-shirt he bought at a Scream-o concert in 2008 and hasn't taken off since? The fat-assed kind with an enormous gut? It couldn't be the dapper kind with pressed jeans and aviator sunglasses because that kind wouldn't have left without going through the twenty-point pre-departure inspection.

some trucker didn't make sure all his trailer components were secure before hit the road today. the fucker's jack handle flew off and implanted itself into the grill of my car. probably would have killed me had it popped up and hit the windshield!

Had the exact same thing happen years ago. Luckily, it skittered under the car (after narrowly missing a motorcycle) and didn't cause any serious damage. We did spend the next 5 miles driving up each side of the truck and writing down every number off the truck, since it sounded like it had torn a hole through the door.

I didn't see the truck. i acutally thought it came from the mini-van that was in front of me. i grabbed his plate number. I was talking to a co-worker at the time and gave him an ear full of explatives as the thing made impact. I didn't find out what it was exactly until after i pulled it out of my grill. I don't think it any internal damage. it hit where a running light would be. I take the car into the shop tomorrow. I guess i'll know more then.
