  • A Hater's Take, Part II

    A Hater's Take, Part II

Umm, for the second season in a row the Packers were able to lay an egg and still win the ball game. The reason this year was the same as last year, Charles Woodson. He was responsible for three turnovers that allowed the Packers to control the ball game. On offense the Packers looked disjointed all day long. The Packers offense was plagued by penalties by the offensive line, and those penalties were caused by a breakdown in technique across the board. Wells and Lang were the only offens...

Met several PACKER PLAYERS last night - first impressions.

My wife and I went to Greg Jennings' Celebrity Golf Extravaganza last night. Only the dinner part, not while they were golfing. And I had the opportunity to meet a lot of players, as they were just walking around the event. Now I will post my impressions of each player, but I want to make it clear, I KNOW that players are constantly bombarded by fans for pictures and autographs and can't please everyone. And I also know that a 10 second moment with a player doesn't make me an expert. So if...

  • Matthews Greene wired for sound

    Matthews Greene wired for sound

(Long post, those with short attention spans, please ignore) I’ve been enjoying the hell out of this SB aftermath. NFL films has come up with their “wired for sound” features called ‘Sound FX’ which really sheds some great insights on the Pack’s fabulous Super victory. Thought I’d present some analysis based on the conversations on the field that I gleaned from these various shows. Firstly, I thought I’d focus on the two defenses. All week all we heard about was of two DC’s...

  • Aaron Rodgers, the most complete Packer QB ever?

Aaron Rodgers, the most complete Packer QB ever?

I read this description recently, and thought it was good. I wish I remembered who wrote it, but I don't; so my apologies for not properly crediting it.

The gist of the article was that AR is the best ever for Green Bay because he is:

Bart Starr with a better arm,
    Lynn Dickey with better legs.
Brett Favre with a better head.

You know what? It might be true

    Rodgers and the Championship Belt

    .

I read a rumor somewhere that either the belt that Clay Matthews III draped over Rodgers shoulder while hoisting the Lombardi trophy... and/or the belt that appeared with Rodgers on Letterman last night... was supplied by none other than the legendary WWE/WWF wrestling icon "Nature Boy" Ric Flair.

This was the closest thing I could find to verification:

  • We Expect To Win

    We Expect To Win

Imagine my friends that you are a fan of almost any other team. You hope for a winning season, you hope for a win against a heated rival (if you have one). The playoffs are a worthy goal, win or lose. If your team just so happens to make it to a conference championship game, then all the better. Super Bowl win? - well at least you made it. Packer fans: Nothing short of an outright Galactic Championship (if it existed) is enough. We dont settle for Division Titles or for Conference Championshi...

  • Two more, just two more.

    Two more, just two more.

    Have been watching some replays.

Rodgers was 24/39 for 304 yards, 3 TDs. Rating of 111.48 Nelson's first drop, for which he stretched more than he had to, went between his elbows and hands. He could/should have caught it in stride for a 51 yard TD, or at worst a 35 yard gain, or so. Jones' drop should have been a 75 yard TD. Just those two plays, if completed would have given Rodgers: 26 of 39 for about 414, 4 TDs if Nelson went to the ground catching it. ...

  • New NFL Kickoff Rule Adopted
    by Joemailman
It passed 29-3. Packers were one of 3 teams voting against it.

Kickoffs will remain at the 35-yard line, but the remaining 10 players on the kicking unit will line up at the opposing team's 40-yard line. The receiving team lines up with at least seven players in the "set-up zone," a five-yard area between their own 35- and 30-yard lines, with a maximum of two returners can line up in the landing zone. After the ball is kicked, the kicker cannot cross the 50-yard line and the 10 ...

  • The Lions Report
    by Fritz
Well, this is the year - or so 99% of the fans in Detroit think - that the Lions get a big, meaningful "W" on Thanksgiving Day. Many many talking heads have reminded folks that this is reminiscent of the 1962 Turkey Day game - the 10 - 0 Packers coming in to town - and in that game the Lions' defensive line, lead by Alex Karras, shredded the Packer offensive line, dumping Bart Starr over and over and leading the Leos to a whupping of the Pack. The Lions feature a talented, deep defensive line. Ndama...
