UGH, because of course he would. Of all the players to get the reps please Luke Butkus give them to the guy about to be cut. This is why we can't have nice things.

ZBB is done for the year, so Tomlinson can take his roster spot. Zeitler takes Reed's? Becton is on the PS. If I had to guess, they will give the new signings a chance to settle and if they stink they're gone. Gute won't cut anyone like Jennings or Glover until they get these guys in the building for a practice or two. Even if they cut Jennings they can probably get him back on the PS, his film isn't going to create a flurry of line waiver claims.

Possibly. But other than Zeitler, Tomlinson and Becton cost next to nothing.

If Banks gets healthy (and its at least possibe they have all but given up on this) I could also see him getting the start ahead of Tomlinson. Tomlinson is a cheap stop gap.

It's not about the money. It's things like roster spots, practice time, placating veterans' egos, short-term vs. long-term planning, etc. They have accumulated 7 guys for two starting positions, 4 being long time vets. It's like a training camp roster, not an in-season roster.

It doesn't look like a well-thought-out approach. It looks like panic. It would be reasonable in the off-season.
