UGH, because of course he would. Of all the players to get the reps please Luke Butkus give them to the guy about to be cut. This is why we can't have nice things.ts probably a sign of impending doom that Jennings is the pick to get released yet he is getting first team practice reps today at RG.
QFTTed would have just ridden with Adrian Klemm and Will Whiticker (when Matt O'Dwyer doesn't pan out) and then drafted Colledge and Spitz next year.
ZBB is done for the year, so Tomlinson can take his roster spot. Zeitler takes Reed's? Becton is on the PS. If I had to guess, they will give the new signings a chance to settle and if they stink they're gone. Gute won't cut anyone like Jennings or Glover until they get these guys in the building for a practice or two. Even if they cut Jennings they can probably get him back on the PS, his film isn't going to create a flurry of line waiver claims.

It's not about the money. It's things like roster spots, practice time, placating veterans' egos, short-term vs. long-term planning, etc. They have accumulated 7 guys for two starting positions, 4 being long time vets. It's like a training camp roster, not an in-season roster.Originally posted by pbmax View Post
Possibly. But other than Zeitler, Tomlinson and Becton cost next to nothing.
If Banks gets healthy (and its at least possibe they have all but given up on this) I could also see him getting the start ahead of Tomlinson. Tomlinson is a cheap stop gap.
It doesn't look like a well-thought-out approach. It looks like panic. It would be reasonable in the off-season.

It absolutely is that given the status of their play but the roster looks like panic because they are going to need a week or 2 to sort out who starts and who stays.Originally posted by Patler View Post

Since I doubt they want to torch the relationship, Banks on short term IR might be in play but he's not going to IR-season unless they want to eat the deal and let him go.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I think they want Banks, but they have been playing "will he, won't he" with him since the start of training camp. It has to be muddling up their planning. Time to put Banks on ice until they know he is ready to go, especially now with a new toe injury along with the knee he has been dealing with. I'm sure they would hope (plan) to get him back in a month or two. By that time, one or more of the new old goats will probably done for a while, if not the season.Originally posted by pbmax View PostSince I doubt they want to torch the relationship, Banks on short term IR might be in play but he's not going to IR-season unless they want to eat the deal and let him go.
Maybe the four guys can give them a seasons worth of games at guard.

This statement is false. The Packers only have the guards that were just signed. Banks is always hurt, and nobody else is an NFL guard. Burton looks like someone you might be trying to develop on the practice squad (if the Packers find a competent coach). I wouldn't trust the others to be crossing guards.Originally posted by Patler View PostAfter signing 3 vet guards during panic week, the Packers have guards galore.
