Surrounded by family in his Sioux Falls home, the South Dakota State receiver accepted a free-agent contract from the Green Bay Packers, his favorite NFL team, and turned down similar offers from the Indianapolis Colts and the New York Jets.

"It was pretty much where I had the most likely chance to make the team," Harris said of going with Green Bay, a team he initially supported in an attempt to needle the Vikings fans in his family...

"I'm going to the Pack attack," he said happily.
    Nice!

Looks like we're still trying to find a real return man among all these WRs. And how can you not pull for a guy named Willie Williams? When you read the story, it turns out he's not that much of a character risk, he's just like a lot of other pampered, pot smoking highly touted guys out there who had terrible decision makers influencing their life. His troubles just happened to occur in just the wrong order that he found himself on the bottom of the pile.

UPDATE: Stancil just e-mailed again to say the Packers contacted him and have decided not to Williams in after all. So ... hold the phone.

Interesting. Seemed like he'd be worth a shot as an undrafted guy.

In addition to being related to Jerry Rice, his dad, Ron, was drafted by Minnesota in 1978 and his uncle, Mike, played for the Oakland Raiders.
Anyone know how JaRon Harris is related to Jerry Rice? It also says he ran a 4.35 at his pro day. Where are all these seemingly sick UFA WR coming from???

I think that's wise. It would be frustrating for the kid to deal with so many talented LB's ahead of him. In the right situation--with us being starved for LB help--I'd give the kid a shot of good old Green Bay Boystown and see if Father McCarthy couldn't straighten him out.

We aint that starved for LB help right now.
[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.

Ya that sucks. I liked that last paragraph about him willing to help the film guys unpack and pack up their gear before/after practice! LOL

Just watched this video of Tyrell Sutton... dude looks like a mini version of Walter Payton. Love how he finishes runs! Seems to be a pretty good receiver out of the backfield... hard to make any predictions with an undrafted FA, but it seems like we're getting some good prospects in.

Tyrell looks good on a field tho. Finishes runs well.
