  • I'm not afraid of playing Atlanta again. I do wish we had a running game (this was a game we win with Ryan Grant; Brandon Jackson has reverted to his awful self), but they are beatable. What hurts is Philly gaining an edge for HFA. I say we beat Chicago in the last game for the North title and get the #3 seed. Almost hope Atlanta gets the #2 seed, we beat them in the playoffs, and hope somebody else takes care of Philly for us.

    • Anybody else watch this game and think we are better off playing them in Atlanta rather than Lambeau? I think we have a better team--outside of our running game. Bad weather at Lambeau might give them an even bigger advantage.

I'm not happy, but oh well.

My biggest problem with this game is what happened after Rodgers fumble. Somebody should have told McCarthy to challenge the 4th down catch. Then, why the hell wasn't McCarthy calling timeout when Atlanta had the ball inside our 5 yard line with just under 2 minutes left in the first half? Horrible performance by McCarthy and the guys upstairs on that drive. It very well could have cost us the game. Other than that, we played well and we are every bit as good as the Falcons.

        • Q was a nice surprise today. It'll help if we can depend on him for some Finley-lite play down the stretch. Be nice to see Nance get more touches.

If Rodgers keeps playing that way, he'll get his share of the close ones. Seems jinxed for now but that will even out if he keeps doing his thing. That last drive was big time.

That said, I hate our special teams right now.

THANK YOU! My brother and I were watching the game and I was like why isn't he calling timeouts? The Falcons from the five yard line had 2 mins and 2 timeouts, melting the clock only loses you another position. I really think MM is just retarded. I doubt we will ever win a superbowl with him as a head coach. I seriously dislike him. He has by far no game management skills. Say give him a pass on the challenge b/c someone should of told him to challenge. But serious are you that dumb that you can't see that you get an extra position in a close game if you use your timeouts?

It seems that every close game I come on here and ripe MM b/c of something he could have done to give us an edge. Thats why I agree with the saying that good teams find ways to win. Its not just bad luck (like Rodgers fumbling) thats losing us all these close games.

              • Did anyone else notice Brandon Jackson on that one play when he lost 7 yards. He saw Lofton and decided that losing 7 yards was better than than getting hit hard and making a yard and maybe a first down. Is this guy serious??? He calls himself a running back?? Where the hell is Starks, he can't be wrose than Jackson. I miss Grant (and Finley).

                • We lost a close game on the road against a good team where we came out flat and made more mistakes than they did. I don't see this as anything worth panicking about. 7-4 is a good record.

                  • 7-4 is a average record in the NFC this year. I wouldn't call it a "good" record.

                    • I really didn't think this team was even all that flat. I think the fumble cost the team, I think MM's coaches let him down by not telling him to challenge the 4th down catch, and I think the special teams on the last kickoff basically cost this team a chance at the win.

I don't blame Wilhelm for the face mask. If he hadn't done that, Weems would still be running. But why did the kickoff return team allow a kick that went three yards deep into the end zone to be returned straight up the gut to the 35 and need a face mask to bring the guy down?

                        • 7-4 is sort of middle of the pack record wise in the NFC. Were technically on the outside looking in right now at the playoffs, and we still have 3 very tough games left out of our last 5.

7-4 isn't a bad place to be, but it's not indictiive of us being a good team. We are still a decent team, but some of our weaknesses got uncovered today. Our inability to rush the football or covert 3 and 1's, and without our offense scoring, the inability for our defense to stop the rush.

We are still a good team, but unless AR tosses 3 TD's we're going to have tough picking sto win each week, especially in the playoffs.

The thing that pisses me off so much is we know we can't run and we know we can't convert 3rd and 1, so on two of those instances we run the ball and do not convert. When we don't run on 3rd and 1 though, we throw the ball 20 yards downfield and don't even have a chance. I don't get it.

                            • One thing I wouldn't mind seeing is for the Packers to roll out Rodgers more on 3rd and short. His running ability would force opposing LB's into a tough situation as to whether they stay in coverage or come up to meet Rodgers.

I've thought the same thing. I don't know why we don't see it more often. I'd prefer almost anything to the uncatchable 20-30 yard pass though.
