I don't think this team is as weak in the areas listed by Packerbacker1234. Except for one: running the football. This team just does not run the football well.
I think it's less a problem of running backs and more a problem of the run blocking. Although, of course, a superstar running back would make the line look better. But unless you can find an Adrian Peterson or Chris Johnson it's not too likely. I'm not sure if Atlanta's RB Michael Turner could've done much with the lack of room the GB backs had today. And he's a good back.

The thing that pisses me off so much is we know we can't run and we know we can't convert 3rd and 1, so on two of those instances we run the ball and do not convert. When we don't run on 3rd and 1 though, we throw the ball 20 yards downfield and don't even have a chance. I don't get it.
And yet, 3rd and 1 resulted in the long pass to Jordy today and I think the TD pass to Jennings last week.

You know what I'm talking about. The out of bounds 30 yard sideline throw to James Jones that stands NO chance of being completed. I've seen it all too often. Is it too much to ask Rodgers to throw the ball to a guy that has a chance to catch it?

If you could point to one free agent RB it would have been nice to pick up it may be Turner. He sure has a pantload of butt-muscle.
Did Atlanta give up a first-rounder to get him?

That call pissed me off. On third and one you throw that well-covered deep sideline route?

Are you saying we've completed them, or attempted them in futility?

But wasn't that deep ball to Jordy Nelson earlier (where he went out at the one) on a third and short???
But he completed that one, so It's a good decision.
Actually though, I do think Aaron goes downfield too much on 3rd and short. 2nd and short is really where you want to take your chances downfield.

I'm not saying throwing deep on 3rd and 1 is a bad choice. I'm saying throwing a ball out of bounds to a covered guy is a bad choice. Rodgers has done that many times this year on 3rd and 1. If the guy on the sideline is covered, there has to be someone else who was open for a yard. I'm surprised more people haven't noticed what I'm talking about. :S

Jones had a step and was just as open as Nelson was. Only difference was Rodgers missed the throw.
Anybody else watch this game and think we are better off playing them in Atlanta rather than Lambeau? I think we have a better team--outside of our running game. Bad weather at Lambeau might give them an even bigger advantage.
I'm not happy, but oh well.
My biggest problem with this game is what happened after Rodgers fumble. Somebody should have told McCarthy to challenge the 4th down catch. Then, why the hell wasn't McCarthy calling timeout when Atlanta had the ball inside our 5 yard line with just under 2 minutes left in the first half? Horrible performance by McCarthy and the guys upstairs on that drive. It very well could have cost us the game. Other than that, we played well and we are every bit as good as the Falcons.
No. Fewer turnovers and better execution in the redzone put the Packers ahead in a rematch. That negates Atlanta's strengths. The only time I would fear them more is if they have the lead late at Lambeau and can just run out the clock.
But we are back to the same question this team presented when it was 3-3. They can compete and beat every team in the NFC (and I think in the AFC), but they have to stop killing themselves with mistakes. Philly is beatable and so is Chicago. But not when the team gives away field position and red zone opportunities.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.
