I actually don't give a shit if the kid is gay. He wouldn't be the first gay NFL player and he wouldn't be the last.

Brady Poppinga is a lot faster than this kid. Brady burned a 4.59. Teo is more in the 4.75 range, Teo is a natural in pass coverage, has great instincts, constant motor, has trouble shedding blocks and is a tad slow. Teo wouldn't be the only ILB prospect that only runs in the 4.75 range.

I really don't know if this kid will be a big time NFL player or not.

As far as this whole "Catfish" scandal, it's pretty freakin' entertaining.

He's a solid player for sure. A good athlete but what makes him special his is ability to be where he needs to be before he needs to be there. He's more like the LB version of Charles Woodson. If he were more intense or had a more physical style I'd find him easier to like.

A lot of Twitter links to this guy, who dug up two of the perps laughing about their scam. While they don't say so explicitly, they acknowledge, shortly after ND/Teo claim, that it was a scam like catfish. Catfish, apparently, being another social scam that is now a movie or TV show or something.

So it follows that Teo is a victim here, at least at first, of a hoax. Here are the Tweets, sample below:

Maybe Tuiasosopo is Samoan for "grifter". In the Tuiasosopo family, either you play football or you grift football. The story about someone else claiming to have met her sounds possible, because Manti was not the first online romance she developed.



Wonder if Ronaiah had a female accomplice? Teo told the Notre Dame AD that they had talked on the phone and she called him early in December, to tell him she had not died. But did need help getting money out of Nigeria.

You know, I don't care if he's gay. No... actually I do. Not because he's putting his penis in the wrong place, but because rookies have about a bazillion things to worry about, adjust to, and deal with, all of which can cause their career to end before it really begins. From what I've read, most NFL locker rooms are still rather homophobic, if not downright homohostile, so I'm not really interested in bringing someone in who's immediately going to have a rather im-pack-ful hurdle to clear in his life, in his career, and with the sports media sticking their noses up his ass at every turn.
