The Jones pick doesn't make me thing we're sticking to the 2-4. We could just as easily be getting smaller in a 3-4 now that we've got legit 5-techs.

the pick needs to be 300 plus to be a 3 down player and not a specialist.

Vikes are hoping that Patterson can morph into Percy Harvin. I don't know about giving up so many picks to be able to draft him; not saying he's a bad pick, just possibly bad value.

Early on he was considered a mid 1st round pick. He's taller than Harvin, bit slower but explosive....we'll see.

Pick and Raji rotate at NT and Datone and Neal rotate at 5 opposite Wilson?

Yeah. Athletes like Jones, Neal, Wilson, Daniels and Worthy can drop back into passing lanes for legit zone-blitzes again to get Perry/Matthews involved. Less bigger guys for more smaller guys but still bigger overall.

i think mayock looks so good because he knows what the picks are 20 minutes before they get announced

I'm convinced the Vikings brass leaks their picks to select media to get good pub. Every year, Paul Allen seems to want exactly who the Vikings are taking. He "wanted" Patterson and Rhodes before the draft tonight. Getting the yokels to buy into the pick. Normally, I'd think I was nuts but Allen ain't sharp enough to guess their pick every year, and it's too coincidental that he "wants" they guys they pick every year.

I'm not sure what to make of the Jones pick. I like the Rhodes pick for Minnesota. I think Patterson will be a bust.
