In local news, a naked man going simply by the moniker "red" is standing outside lambeau field and refuses to cover his bush until the packers remove theirs.Originally posted by pbmax View PostWHAT KIND OF PROTEST WILL red STAGE WHEN BUSH IS ELECTED TO PACKERS HALL OF FAME?The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

I heard Sherrod was cleared to practice, but fell off of an 8 year olds bike on the way over and tore his labrum...surgery is scheduled for Saturday. MM says it will cost him a few more days.Originally posted by hoosier View PostPer MM, Datone Jones turned his ankle, the same one he hurt two weeks ago. So either you keep 'em out forever and they never progress (Sherrod, Quarless) or you put 'em back on the field and they immediately get re-injured. For whatever reason the Packers under TT and MM are cursed with injuries. When did the curse first appear? Was it Justin Harrell? Terrence Murphy? The curse needs a name.
In other news, JSO reports that MM says that Andy Mulumba's knee "just blew up in meetings". Hopefully that is just a figure of speech, not a comparison between Mulumba and Dustin Keller. If it is a comparison, that is probably good news for someone like Sam Barrington. The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

Its after the coach says "I didn't know he was here" that you have to worry.Originally posted by bobblehead View PostI heard Sherrod was cleared to practice, but fell off of an 8 year olds bike on the way over and tore his labrum...surgery is scheduled for Saturday. Apparently, TT didn't wait too long. It was reported yesterday that the Packers contacted Carpenter, but he chose to go to Arizona instead.Originally posted by pittstang5 View PostI was gonna say, get rid of both those scrubs and bring in Dan Carpenter and Rian Lindell and let those two hash it out...but I just saw they both got picked up.
Waited too long TT, waited too long.
Packers kicker will probably be either Carpenter or Jay Feeley. One will be released by Arizona in the next couple weeks.

I'll take either one over Crosby - and his competition now in camp - in a heartbeat!Originally posted by Patler View PostApparently, TT didn't wait too long. It was reported yesterday that the Packers contacted Carpenter, but he chose to go to Arizona instead.

I am rooting for Feeley for two reasons: one, he is a walking contradiction of terms - a good Michigan kicker - and two, I tagged him with the nickname Jay "Touchy" Feeley many years ago.Originally posted by Patler View PostApparently, TT didn't wait too long. The reason Carpenter isn't still in Miami is probably that he missed 2 games each of the past 2 years. A kicker missing games is a big deal since teams seldom keep 2 kickers. I'd prefer Feeley who has shown he can kick effectively in cold weather. Don't know if Carpenter has done that much since he played for Miami.Originally posted by Patler View PostApparently, TT didn't wait too long. A kicker who misses games is a really bad thing, you have to find someone and quick! I know TT has done it in the past, but I'm not so sure he's in that kind of shape anymore.--

Well, TT was in no shape to kick FGs when playing for Houston either.Originally posted by Guiness View PostA kicker who misses games is a really bad thing, you have to find someone and quick! I know TT has done it in the past, but I'm not so sure he's in that kind of shape anymore.
This is one of those problems that always makes me wonder: We have a nation of 300+ million people and 7 billion in the world. You would think among that population, it ought to be possible to get a guy who can kick a ball through the uprights reliably."Never, never ever support a punk like mraynrand.
