If you don't agree with PB then post about it here and state your point more often. But you only come out when the ship is leaking to talk crap. That's not a problem but don't just pop up to call people out on a personal level or see yourself removed from this forum. Basically, make yourself worth something or expect to get treated like you are nothing.

Why is everyone here so gay?
It was an entertaining game where the Packers did some amazing things and some hard to believe bone headed things. Like Ms. Packer4life said, one more bounce goes our way and the packers win - everyone would be glowing about a revived running game amid adversity, a QB who gave us a glimpse into the life of a bears fan for one game, and a defense that played with intensity, and outside of a couple of mistakes - had a pretty amazing game. You aren't going to win every game, and I for one find the intrigue of competition more entertaining than the drubbing GB gave those terribly offensive Indians last week. Yeah, I would be "happier" on some level for a few hours had they won, but I also enjoyed simply watching the game, unlike some folks who freak the fuck out about every play that doesn't result in a TD or an INT. It's time for people to grow the fuck up and enjoy the journey, not act like some teenager XBox trophy collecting douchebag beating up 7 year olds in Madden while shouting obscene internet memes into a headset that resets the game if the kid gets a first down."You're all very smart, and I'm very dumb." - Partial

Nice. I was just thinking about how crazy that game was. If you'd tell me the defense would give up 20 points and take the ball away 4 times and they'd roll up almost 200 yards rushing on a good D I would have thought they'd have strolled. But man, Rodgers and his highly touted pack of receivers got shown up by the Red Rifle. In the end, it all hung up on the crazy ass challenge/fumble sequence and the Packers "high powered" O floundering the game away with a whimper at the end. They probably had it coming... that pregame interview sequence with Pam Oliver left me feeling like they were going to let the team down.Originally posted by SkinBasket View PostWhy is everyone here so gay?

When your level of football understanding and analytic skills extends only to: "Did the Packers win? No? Then they suck."; you can expect the negative tone from some posters.
There were a lot of positives to take from the game. Having a few more players back from injury; getting some of these rookies more experience; allowing the OLine and DLine to gel - the near future as well as the long term future are looking pretty bright.

True. Is there a Studs and Duds thread?Originally posted by cheesner View PostWhen your level of football understanding and analytic skills extends only to: "Did the Packers win? No? Then they suck."; you can expect the negative tone from some posters.

Franklin would fall into both categories.
Rodgers had an off game and proved he's human. You can bet with the extra time and his competitive juices he'll be ready for DET. I think the WRs will too.
The rookies didn't do too bad: Datone Jones blocked an XP, Bach made mistakes but didn't embarrass himself, Franklin broke 100 yards. Lacy has shown potential if he can stay healthy. Banjo didn't make too many mistakes.
The bye comes at a good time for CM3, Hayward, and Burnett to make it back. The team hasn't fielded a healthy team and this is their best chance to get there.
There are of course some downsides as well, but I think they are in better shape than a lot of teams. They have some cap decisions to make, but they have some players to backfill departing FA's. They'll need a solid draft, though.
I think they can contend for a playoff spot and make some noise in the postseason. They'll need some help from Lady Luck and Uncle Mo' to make the SB, but it's not like they're JAX or OAK.
They've had a tough start to the schedule -- CIN is no pushover. This is a team that is young in a lot of places and should get better as the season goes on.
If the injuries pile up or nobody steps forward from the Banjo/McMillian/Jennings trio they'll have trouble. Dalton did most of his damage after Clay went out. The OL still has some scary lapses and the interior depth is wanting. Quarless might not get his legs back.
Take a deep breath, and remember it's only Week 3 of a long season. If they can consistently produce the threat of a run game this is a dangerous team.

Less worried about Seattle than San Fran still. Even if Seachickens are better, matchup is more favorable. My assessment may change if Percy Harvin can actually play and make a difference this year, but for now, Packers D can throw all the resources at the run and then try to catch Golden Tate in a tiger pit.Originally posted by mraynrand View Postjust make the tournament and avoid playing in SeattleBud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs.
