Maybe they’re thinking he can be helpful to McCarthy’s development (a kin to Love)? Or just derisk JJ not being ready for opening day?

Plus fan base, tickets, jerseys, etc.

And if he won their first SB - while as terrible as that’d be for Packer fans - it’d sure be generationally noteworthy.

Between this and Robert Rochell not resigning (yet) this tells me they are going to draft a couple of CBs to "throw some bodies at the position group"

Sad but true but looks like the dream is over now.

        • Greg VanRoten resigned with the Giants. Turned 35 in Feb, and has started 34 games the last two years.

One of the more interesting career paths I've seen. Came into the league at 22, and didn't get his first start until he was 28, but in the seven years since has 88 starts for 5 teams.

Yeah I was surprised that he was not only still around, but getting starts. The Giants don't have a great offense, not surprising

                      This guy here is dead.

                      Cross him off then.

Its rapidly looking like you can post his retirement announcement in the near future.

It could be just like Burt. Announce his retirement, what until training camp and sign with another team.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

Not exactly, exactly. But close enough.

                            • Still hoping Minny will sign him. How much fun would that be?

Weird that Rodgers has gone from being worth a couple of high-end draft picks to a back-up-plan guy in the space of a couple years. How the mighty have fallen. As we all do.

We probably cashed in a year late on trading him, but it's really fallen off quickly since then.
