  • Short fields definitely help. So that turnover ratio is very important this year as Zool mentioned.

But the offense does capitalize and scores, the first imperative for an offense.

The ST doesn't change or protect field position (though with the Weapon back on track that could change) and the Defense surrenders yards and too many points.

Defense is 14th in points surrendered per game, 28th is yardage surrendered and 11th in plays faced per game. Surrendering fewer points is commendable, but they are giving up WAY too many big plays.

The offense is carrying its weight even if it struggles with longer drives. ST are mediocre and Defense is below average.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

    • Oh I am way more than “slightly off” Run!

But back to the stats, I was looking at it wrong. Thanks for clarifying. But I still think the time of possession is a big issue that makes the struggling defense worse.

PB - agree that ST is a huge problem. At the SF game I saw the KR fair catching when there was plenty of opportunity to gain 5-10 yards at minimum. Even the SF fans were questioning why he was acting scared.

        Aren't we all! LOL

Saw Ryan Wood remarking on the JSO that all Tyler Ervin has to do is return a punt 4 yards and it will be GB's longest so far this year. That is pathetic. Blockers need to give him a chance, but I think if you have a 5 yard window you return that punt...if you make the first guy miss you're often in business.
