I'm paraphrasing here, but I recall someone saying:


"You don't throw the long ball to keep a defense honest, you throw the long ball to put the fear of god into them!"



I think Jordan Love has accomplished just that over the last couple of games.

Both of Love's deep completions in Sunday's 28-21win over the Chicago Bears went for touchdowns.

The only other Packers quarterback to have consecutive games in the same season with at least two touchdowns of 20-plus air yards was Aaron Rodgers, who did it in Weeks 4 and 5 of the 2008 season.

And I think this development requires a nice heavy theme song. Usually theme songs for Jordan revolve around "Love Songs" but this time I think something more demonstrative is definitely in order:

When the D clamps down to stop Jacobs from punishing them you have to be able to make them pay a hefty price. Love has been doing that. Sometimes running QBs can do that as well by ripping off 20+ yards when Watson pushes the safeties deep and the LBers clamp down. That is the Malik Willis style so far.
