Shoddy Packers' defense lifts Jaguars into lead
The backups on the Packers' defense didn't do themselves any favors in the second half. Sloppy tackling and execution led to another Jacksonville touchdown, a 25-yard pass from David Garrard to George Wrighster that put the Jags ahead, 14-10, late in the third quarter. Tyrone Culver was the closest defender on the play. All told, it was a terrible quarter for the Packers' defense. Presumably, some jobs could be lost with that kind of effort.
Garrard finished 6 of 7 for 97 yards in the third quarter.

Jaguars finally get into the end zone
LaBrandon Toefield scored on a 1-yard plunge with 7:07 left in the third quarter, and followed by Josh Scobee's extra point, Jacksonville pulled within 10-7.
Both teams are playing with a collection of second- and third-stringers. David Garrard replaced Byron Leftwich at quarterback for the Jaguars, and directed a seven-play, 46-yard drive. Garrard hit Matt Jones for a 26-yard completion on third and 9 to keep the drive alive and move Jacksonville to the Packers' 7.
The score doesn't mean as much as individual performances in the final quarter and a half as several players are fighting for jobs.
