Looking online that baseball is worth maybe $150 bucks. Sheesh. I'll bet you could get $150 for Aaron Rodgers' toenail clippings. It is funny how sports memorabilia values are so arbitrary and illogical. Aaron can make toenail clippings (and autographed photos) for a good long while, but you won't ever get Billy Martin and Early Wynn and Harmon Killebrew to sign a baseball for you again.

I know what it comes down to, though. Despite the Hall of Famers on that ball, few interested at more than $150, and I wouldn't let it go for five times that.
I once dated Kent Hrbek's niece. The guy still wouldn't sign my glove.

Thanks, Mike. We laid him to rest today in Appleton. Our only regret was the lengthy and painful illness. We had a great celebration of the old boy's life with all of my beloved uncles and aunts over the last few days.

        • I've been in bachelor party withdrawals.......a few weeks ago a buddy of mine noted there will be one in August and even though I don't know the groom he asked if I"d be interested in heading to a big ass party. He let me know instead of going to the dude joints they were having a couple strippers head right to his house........F'ck ya I was game for that !!! Any other Saturday but this weekend since that is Packer Family Fun Night at Lambeau.

I am cursed; he texted me a few days ago and it's Saturday.........

At five o'clock he asked us to turn on the lights (they were already on), and at 5:05 I called my children to have them come and say goodbye. I left his side at 5:20 to answer the phone and he slipped away in that moment with my mother holding his hand. Cancer is a cruel disease and it robbed him of all strength. The pain was relentless. We are grateful that the end was peaceful, though a little stunned at how rapidly he slipped from us. I know many of you have been there and felt such loss. It is just cathartic to share.

            RIP.

Went through basically (brain cancer not lung) the same thing with my father a couple of years ago. It was hard to watch but I'm glad I got to spend time with him at the end. Two months from diagnosis to death.....almost to the hour of what the doc said.

            • LOL!

On one end of the motorsport scale is Formula One. On the other is a lot of cheap beer. It looks like the cheap beer side is winning.

RIP. Sorry to hear about the suffering, and hope your kids will have had the chance to form some positive memories of grandpa.

                          • Oddly enough, I have been spending the weekend in St. Louis. From the rooftop balcony of the hotel I can see the pitchers mound of the Cardinals stadium, the base of the Gateway Arch and the football arena. St. Louis has been delicious. Tomorrow it is Pappy's barbecue and Drew's custard. A local tour guide (He referred to himself as a 'speereinsed tur god,") suggested I must be from Utah or sumtin when I declined his services for twenty dollars. Other than the tur god incident, St. Louis is easy to navigate between the Metrolink trains and buses and pedestrianship.
