I couldnt imagine having to do it with Dr. Dre standing over my shoulder, wanting/waiting/pleasing to get on the keyboard and having thousands of people yelling at me that I suck, we want dre!

Shit ... plus the rain the other night?

I have big hopes for my man A-Rod... I wasnt sold on him -- Im sure some "injury prone" quotes of mine could be found -- but I just gotta hunch on the kid! He's got the swag.

On the plus side, GBPG was waxing poetic about how well Rodgers did tonight:
Brett who? If Aaron Rodgers keeps this up, he might make Packers fans forget about a certain future Hall of Fame quarterback.
I thought Morency looked good on Family Night. Wynn is on very thin ice.

      • Boiga posted this in the Sitton thread, but I don't want it to get lost in the shuffle.

“What round did we draft him in?” defensive tackle Ryan Pickett said. “I don’t know how he slid down like that. He’s one of the better rookie guards I’ve ever seen just coming in the league.”

All Pickett can do now is watch because of a tight hamstring. However, he did bump with Sitton during the off-season.

“As big as he is, he probably has some of the best feet on our offensive line,” said Pickett. “Real quick. When you beat him initially he’s so good at recovery. And he’s strong. You can’t bull him.

“All the D-line, everybody gives him respect. It’s hard to earn, but he did a good job earning it. Some day I know he’ll be a starter, a good one. I just don’t know when.”
"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

        • Return game

Mike Stock, who coaches special teams, said cornerback Will Blackmon has the inside track on punt and kickoff returns just ahead of cornerback Tramon Williams.

"But if somebody is playing more defense than the other guy, we can always spell him," said Stock. "They both have speed and legit catching ability."

          • We got a new CB:

The Packers added cornerback Scorpio Babers to their roster to fill the spot vacated when Brett Favre was traded to the Jets. Babers tried out for the team Wednesday. He’s 5-11, 194 lbs. and is out of Sam Houston State

            * The Brett Favre chants were pretty much gone -- what remains this morning is one lone heckler, who periodically is shouting insults during practice.
            Woodbuck, just go home....

Wow, this is high praise. Hell, if he's this good just throw him in there. By the end of the season he'll be ripping it up. I like the strength of our line with Spitz/Sitton/Tausch on the right side. That is no weaker than the Flannigan/Rivera/Tausch right side of the past.

                • Rodgers is continuing his bounce back from the scrimmage. Hopefully it'll continue through january.
                  10:35 a.m.

Aaron Rodgers looked impressive during a team no-huddle drill at which crowd noise was piped onto the field. Rodgers marched the team 70 yards to a touchdown. He completed six of eight passes on the drive, including a four-yard touchdown strike to James Jones. Rodgers looked particularly sharp on three different slant passes during the drive, drilling the ball on target in tight coverage.

The second-team offense didn’t fair nearly as well in the drill. Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn combined to complete just one of eight passes.

                  • My Viking friend here at work assures me that the GBPG beat writer, Tom Pelissero, is not a shill. He used to be a Vikings beat writer for KFAN.com, and he thought "Dot-com Tom" was the most impartial beat writer KFAN has had covering the Vikings.

The No. 1 offense returned to the field for a normal team drill with crowd noise again piped in. On that drive, Rodgers completed six of nine passes.

                      • McCarthy was pleased with the performance of Aaron Rodgers. He said Rodgers is ready to go and he can’t wait to see him in game action. The Packers take on the Cincinnati Bengals Monday night at Lambeau Field.

I've heard some days he's not so good and other days he looks great.

T-Jack just needs to find some consistency.

                            • CRAP!!!!

Coach Mike McCarthy said running back Ryan Grant had a hamstring strain and didn’t participate in practice this morning. Grant reported to camp a week late because of a contract holdout.
                              http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/...er/index.shtml

I was worried that Grant would push himself too hard when he got back. He kept talking about how he was working extra after practice to try and catch up... and now look what happened.

Take it slow, Ryan, and build up your resistance.
