That's too bad. Bears will just have to blitz a little more. BTW, Chilly is the one sitting for Favre. Where does Chilly go to reclaim his dignity?

    Dignity is overrated.

        • Well, if Mortenson's "sources" are to be believed, this is not just about saving Favre from abuse, it's about his level of play. And Favre is just telling his head coach "no."

That's one issue. The first thing that comes to mind is this: would Holmgren have put up with that?

But there's another aspect I haven't seen discussed. What the hell is Childress thinking if he's really thinking of pulling his starting QB every third game or so? What kind of NFL coach would flip flop his QB's as often as it appears Childress might be?

That just doesn't sound right. It's hard to imagine Childress being dumb enough to A) think about benching Favre when the team has been playing so well, and B) actually let it be known in any way that he was thinking of benching Favre.

Makes me wonder if this isn't a bit overblown.

                    • I know this is an oldie but it is still a goodie.

A man won the lottery and offered to buy his three boys a gift...money was no object. The oldest boy had recently graduated college and wanted a house. His dad bought him a mansion. The middle son was nearly 16 and wanted a car. His dad bought him a Ferrari. The youngest son was only 5 and not into such material things. All he asked for was a Mickey Mouse outfit. His dad bought him the Minnesota Vikings.

                      • Long-range forecasts indicate temperatures between 24 and 28 degrees at Soldier Field. The Bears have won their last 10 home games when the temperature was 32 degrees or colder, including in the playoffs. They’ve won those games by an average score of 26-13. And, in case you haven’t heard, Favre isn’t a big fan of playing in cold weather anymore. He’s lost his past seven starts when the temperature at kickoff is 38 degrees or lower, dating to the 2003 playoffs.

I know they will be breakn it down on espn all day and during telecast, but what are all the ramifications for tonight's game? seedings, byes, etc....if vikes and aints win out, who's top seed? how can philly over take vikes? how far down can the top seeds fall?

AMAZINGLY favre has only ONE sub .500 season in 19 years (TWO DECADES!) who does that in this parity-laden entity?

                                All 6 seeds are undecided.

Vikes win 2 and Saints lose 1 the Vikes are #1 seed. Only two teams eligible for #1.

Vikes lose 1 and Philly could win a tie breaker next week for #2
Vikes lose 2 and Dal or AZ could also get #2.
Vikes could finish anywhere from #1-#4 depending on how they finish. They only control their destiny for #2.
