You are right though it would be hard to move back into the 1st and with the draft being so deep I'd rather trade down to be honest.
That picture looks like Kaepernick dreaming of playing the Packers.

But you can dream. I doubt you get Prior, but it might be possible to trade down, get Shazier, then trade up again and get a WR near the top of the second round. Then use the compensatory third round pick on a FS.

What they might be able to do is use their second and third (with or without another pick, depending) to get back in very early in the 2nd. Instead of getting #29, getting something between there and #40.

His unofficial 40 time is startling. If it's being taken seriously it vaults him up the draft boards to be sure. I think it would've make him the fastest LB by a pretty good margin, Mack ran a 4.59.
Previously it was mentioned that at a new higher weight, Shazier was within 10 pounds of Kuechly and thus could survive at ILB.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Whos knows if he'll be able to keep the weight up during the season but I'm willing to bet with a NFL weight training program he should have no problem, Clay Matthews was 240 when we drafted him and hes at 255 now. Crazy thing is both players were under 200 pounds their freshman year in college, Clay at 180 and Shazier at 190....I need to get to the gym.

On many of his tackles in those videos, he got glancing blows and takedowns. Just a few head-on collisions that stopped a runner. Combine that with a sideways avoidance of some Guards, I am a bit concerned about him in the run game. Not concerned about pursuit.

I think we should take votes for anyone who contributes in the thread, is that okay?

              going

Good comment. That worries me too. But still, it would be nice to have a ILB who could stay with RBs and TEs. I hear the NFL is going to make the 'forward pass' a bigger part of the game and it might be important to have an ILB who can defend the pass.

Within 10lbs, and 2" shorter so pretty similar stoutness. Mosley is 6'2", and most of the other ILB prospects seem to be around that height. I always think of ILBs as generally being a bit shorter, but I guess not.

I agree, he looks like he could survive. But that is not how he plays. I know nothing about his scheme at Ohio State, so that could explain some of it.

The other question is this: will he, like Jones does, have to develop the ability to diagnose running plays from inside? Jones reacts slow to run plays developing and then can take some bad gaps. Shazier was not strictly a ILB at OSU, what kind of learning curve will he have?

I'm still looking at that 4.36 40 time. Think scouts are taking that seriously at all? Wouldn't that be the fastest LB time in a decade or so? How 'fast' is that track he was running on? Was he wearing P.F. Flyers?

Damn that young man looks impressive. How dedicated he must have been to the weight room?

This man will help our "D". There's a bonus.

With a pick of Ryan Shazier the Green Bay Packer "back and white" female fan base will increase generating higher merchandizing profit.

Ted Thompson loves picking DL. He's going to hit it big one year.

Fast, small receiver who with struggle with press man coverage in the NFL. BTW we have a guy named Randall Cobb, why the hell do we need Cooks? We just going to load this team with WRs under 6 feet? We need a WR who will help us in the red zone, not another small target. We were ranked 26th in the league in red-zone touchdown conversions last season. Cooks isn't going to help us improve there and hes not even a good return man so we going to use our 1st pick on a #3 WR? Go defense round 1 and let TT work his day two magic picking a WR (Jennings, Nelson, Cobb).
After looking at WR Brandin Cooks more carefully :

                          A) I believe your correct

                          B) TT won't be considering him anyway.

He might have to depending on Pickett's status and the future of Raji, but I am not sure its happening in the first round.

Not sure. But at ILB, more worried about the splits he had in that 40. If he gets a good number at 10 yards, the top end isn't as important.
