Of course meanwhile Rodgers might actually be getting more hate from talking heads than Ruggs is.
Well, yes, for a couple of reasons. First, Rodgers's comments on the vaccine are a hot-button topic that has the country divided, so his feeding that fire is naturally going to get him a lot of heat. On the contrary, as far as I can tell (so far), nobody is screaming that Rugg's rights are being violated. Nobody is (yet) saying that the government is stripping Rugg's right to do what he wants, because that's what the country is all about. So far we still agree that it's not okay to kill another person because you think you have the right to do whatever the hell you want to, including getting drunk and driving 150 mph in a residential neighborhood. So there's not much to say there.

Secondly, if you're suggesting hyposcrisy, then of course it's hypocritical. But sports in general is hypocritical. Should entertainers like Aaron Rodgers or Henry Ruggs get paid millions and millions of dollars when there are police and firefighters and nurses making peanuts and putting their lives on the line to actually protect us and save lives? You can justify that any way you want, but the bottom line is that in an economy that measures importance by dollars made, the decision to put an inordinate number of dollars into distractions like the NFL or television shows us what our priorities actually are.

        How true that is.

Yet, my main concern at the moment is who's starting the game thread and whether the Packers' defense can play well again.

I'm part of the problem, no doubt.

          LOL.

Me too. People do need distractions from the grind. And the NFL can be pretty fun and entertaining.

Since you're here, perhaps you should take the mantle?

I did have an impressive winning streak back in 2016.

But I thought Joe was taking it on. If I don't see something soon, I will.

Joe started the Week One thread.

              Inauspicious.

                Go for it, Fritz.

I have a GameDay thread, one that’s mostly about Olivia Rodrigo and her awesome song “Brutal,” ready to post. But I’ll let you do the honor. Don’t forget to remind us of the greatness of the U of Michigan.

Not so sure about the ol' U of M's greatness, but I will start that thread.

Olivia Rodrigo was an industry-generated star.
