You may be right, but you might be a little spoiled by watching Rodgers all these years. No one is saying he's a future HOFer, but he might be a competent NFL starting QB.

Heflin too. He's played well on Family Night and last night. Would like to see if he can do anything in practice against the 1's.

        1) Don't get QB1 hurt
        2) Get a definitive answer if QB2 is worth anything

Playing QB3 doesn't help with either of the above, thus I think it's stupid.
Decent chance either Rodgers or Love won't be here next year. May want to see if Etling can be a #2.

Yeah, I thought heflin looked decent too. But he seems like a try hard guy with some limitations. Slaton has some high upside juice to him.

Oh I agree. I was just thinking in terms of the roster. There's been some debate as to whether Packers keep 5 or 6 DL. Heflin might be playing his way onto the roster as #6.

            • Preston looks leaner in his face and he looks leaner in the TC pics. Him and Gary could both be in for big years. Along with a 5 deep DL rotation. I like how the front is shaping up. Assuming injuries don’t hit.

              • My biggest concern going into last night was the O-line with Bakh and Jenkins. They've mostly been getting manhandled by Packers DL in practice. The fact that the O-line did okay suggests that the D-line might be as good as the hype coming out of practice.

True. Hanson got pushed around a little and had the penalties. But he’s probably not much worse than rookie Newman last year. It could be serviceable until the Calvary arrives.

Dude really likes Dubbs...............and Dude really likes Winfree and is running a soft campaign through the press to keep him. Reminds me a bit of White Jesus a while back. We don't have enough spots for the WR"s. They seem like a bunch off guys who might be good and who knows which ones take the next step.
It will be interesting to see what Winfree does and Rodgers has to say about him going forward. It seemed clear that he was not as good at getting open as the other four in last nights game. At first glance, it seemed like Love was treating Doubs like Rodgers treated Davante, but the other side of the coin was that Winfree wasn't able to get open.

By rights he should have come out of the half with over 200 yards passing with at least 2 TD's and 1 INT. But most people didn't like the Love draft pick, so the bashing will continue.
The only pick I wouldn't blame Love for was the throw to Davis which probably should have been caught, although you could also say Love threw it too hard for the distance between them. The throw to Amari was off target behind him. Several other throws Love made were off target either for incompletions or complete anyway.

I like the guy's mobility, and I was ready to start thinking positive about him based on what I read about practice. But what I saw in the game just doesn't justify it.

Those are dropped all of the time. The second bad play is the one where he had no sense of timing of the defender about to hit him. He threw up a wounded duck because he timed it poorly and got hit. The third is the Amari pick.

The game is too fast for him. Love stinks. And I was all for the pick and had hope. But that time has passed. Love stinks. No wonder Gute gave 12 a contract into his 40s and long after Loves 4th and 5th years. They gave up. It is time we do too.

                        • We should be saying, I would do anything for Love. But instead we’re saying love stinks. The story has been written.

I give Gute credit for taking a shot but he missed.

Now it’s just ride 12 till he retires and then stink and eventually nab us a Desean Watson or Patrick Mahommes in the early middle of round 1.

                          • The pick that bounced off Davis' hands was not Love's fault. Should've been caught. The 2nd pick was on Doubs... he got the ball taken away from him. The Amari pick was a bad throw, MLF said two receivers ran the same/wrong route and so he locked onto Amari. It was a bad decision and he should've just thrown the ball away if nobody was open. The corner had inside leverage on Amari's route so IDK why you'd try to make that throw. So of the 3 Ints, 1 was Love's fault. He had more accuracy issues than I'd like to see, especially with all the Tom Clements talk from Rodgers.

The bashing of Jordan Love is overblown. It's not like he's the first pick they've traded up for that (probably) won't be elite. Jason Spriggs? Oren Burks? There are plenty of R1 picks (Harrell, Datone, Ahmad Carroll etc.) that haven't panned out. He's probably going to be added to the list of those that won't pan out, they'll let his contract expire without picking up the 5th year option and look for a new QB. Meanwhile, he's an ok backup...bearing in mind that there aren't enough good starters in the league, nevermind backups.

Dallin Leavitt better be an absolute demon on ST, because you do NOT want him playing defense. I think it was Andy Herman who tweeted that he has some of the worst coverage he's seen, and that was shown to be true against the Niners.

                            • Love reminds me a lot of Spriggs. High pick. All potential. Never showed one sign of being legit. Fans gave endless excuses for 4 years and then the experiment was over.

But one thing I’ll agree with is that GMs miss on some picks, even high ones. It’s one miss. It’s not that big of a deal. But it’s over. It didn’t work out.

Rodgers did get extra chippy and competitive though. So that was nice. When they panned to Rodgers last night, I never saw a guy more comfortable in his skin. He’s been absolutely catered to. Gute knew Love wasn’t it when Rodgers made his move and gave Rodgers the world. This is Rodgers team until he decides to hang up his cleats. 12 runs the show.

                              • I read that Lowery is due to make $7.9 million, $1.8 million I think dead money if he is cut. With Slaton looking so good as well as Clark, Wyatt, and Reed, and now Heflin - I thought he looked ok too and Ford too is a possibility. I'd like to see them cut Lowery.
