I was going to stick my tongue out at you and Thome, being from Cleveland and all, but that wouldn't be fair. I'd love to see MN win the pennant, the series as often as possible. Just so long as it isn't the pimps from NY or Boston who ruined the game.

    LOL. What?

Cliff Lee's on the Rangers...Sabathia's on the Yanks. Two teams from the AL cannot play each other in the world series. At least, that's the last I heard.

Good thing they have Favre. He'll turn Barrian from the 1,000 yard receiver he was in Chicago to the best receiver in the NFL.
I have to say, slow QB or not, the vikings may have the worst pass protection OL in the entire NFL. It's at least debatable if it's as bad as philly.

      • Favre was bailed out by the refs twice today. He threw an interception that was called back and then he fumbled after he got hit in the head. Even with those, he still managed to throw 2 more interceptions.

His next one ties him with last years number. Has anyone else thrown 6 yet this season?

Too bad the helmet hit didn't happen to rodgers prior to his fumble/int in OT last year. It happened after he dropped it. If it happened before, it would of negated the turnover.

Favre hasn't played well at all this year, I wont dare say he is playing well. But, that OL his one of the worst pass protection OL's I have seen this season, right there iwth the eagles. What happened? They were much better last year in protection then they have been this season. At this rate, Matthews is going have 5 sacks a game against the vikings.

wow....I wish I had time to repeat all the crap I read about making his teammates so much better for the last 2 and a half years.

I only saw highlights this evening and MN's O line looks pretty awful. It doesn't help that Grandpa is a statue back there.

The lesser Manning also has 6 picks through 3 games.

If Cutler can return to 2009 form and throw 5 picks on Monday night, he'll join this elite club.

I remember it being a face mask and it should have gotten called, but no gripes here. It was an easy one for the refs to miss. We got screwed on some calls that game, but our defense didn't play well enough for us to deserve to win.

The hit in the head was legit penalty. I thought the pass interference call was a bad call. Detroit also got royally screwed on a bad holding call. They had a run for about 15 yards and a 1st down to about the Vikings 15. Their OC was called for a phantom holding call because Fat Pat has a hard time staying on his feet in his old age. Instead they had to try for a 46 yard FG and missed it. Big play in the game--as the pick would have been.

Sorry, but that isn't the rule on penalties stopping possesion changes. Any penalty that happens before the ball changes possesion stops the turnover. So Rodgers can drop the ball and as long as he is roughed before the Cardinals have the ball in their hands, with 2 feet down or maybe more if they are in the act of going to the ground, the Packers retain possesion. Which is exactly what happened in Arizona.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

According to the referee's interpretation during the viking game yesterday, the penalty only negates a turnover if the QB had possession at the time of the penalty. Otherwise, if he does not have possession at the time of the penalty - both teams are essentially considered a defense at that point, and thus the penalty is assessed after some team gains possession.

However, if a hit in the head (or the facemask) occurs while Rodgers has possession, and then he drops the ball (or throws a pick, blah blah) that play no longer counts.

I am basing this 100% on the explanation the referee gave for overturning the fumble.
