Today WAS supposed to be great day where we mixed the Badger Legend into the Packer Brass and lead us to a dominant defense for many years to come. The perfect match for many years of disappointment when we repeatedly see the Packers, under several GM's pass up Badgers for inferiors. Take a look at the guys JIMMY coached at UW and go back and hear these guys who made it talk about his impact. Gutebag loves young players. Jimmy Develops young players.

instead, the Flower reportedly heard the Harbaughs were interested (who fucking cares and if that is the reason is seems to cowardly) and after letting him leave the building without an offer he closed the deal on the same Day Jimmy became available.

Now , all over facebook we have AI bots and Cheerleaders on Packer facebook sites doing their best to circle talk reasons why it was so urgent to hire this guy....when equally or more qualifed experience was still available (Jim Schwartz anybody) .....(YES< I would have loved to see him punch Ben Johnson in the face after a game) and a safe hire in Rasheem Morris. And a guy who has spent his entire life overachieving and then coaching his players to overachieve.
    .
So now we have to back off, and look at stretch reasons why Richie Gannon was such a good hire.

Today, and tomorrow were supposed to be among the greatest day in Wisconsin. Remember this hire for years when we get bounced playoff time be superior coaching staffs.

    Thanks for nothing, FLOWER
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Uh, Leonhard ran a version of the Foot Fetish Rex Ryan D, and that D has been obsolete for a while now. Also, at Wisconsin, Leonhard feasted on the likes of Southern Kentucky Confederate State A&M. Against the big boys like Ohio State and Fritz’s beloved Michigan, his D was hapless and toothless.

I preferred Al Harris. Dude’s a wise man, having played or coached in every defensive system in the known universe. But I reckon, Gannon’s “Bruce Lee” defense ain’t gonna be too bad. Maybe Gannon, a stoic, could make the “pistol force” fab again. I must note (again), though: The pistol force ain’t been fab since the last white corner played for the Packers. Mabye the German Shepherd could finally draft a white corner. Fuck, he shoulda drafted Jean “Cooper” Valjean.

Well, that's really the formula. The 2010 SuperBowl win had all of these except the health (you need just enough healthy to actually make the playoffs and be capable of winning). A team has to peak (Packers were flaming hot in 2010) in the playoffs and have a top tier defense.

What I really fear is that the Packers can't win a Super Bowl without a Michigan Heisman Trophy winner and there's really nothing on the horizon.

70% of the world is covered with water. The other 30% is covered by Al Harris.

If results are you metric of choice, Al Harris' defenses routinely stink. By your measure, he is a failure of immense proportions. Forget beating Ohio State, he gave up 52 to the Loins.

He gave up like 50 points to Jordan Love in the playoffs for Pete's sake. : D
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

It's not really the same, Giannis family isn't from here and Giannis didn't grow up here. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

I also think this is a misrepresentation of what I said, perhaps I was not clear though. I was saying that they're equal, and that NYC has more opportunities for his career. Plenty of wealthy people make it work.

I’m skeptical that Leonhard was going to be our defensive coordinator if we waited.
I think there were some discussions and decisions with Buffalo by his camp at the same time that made us go cold on him.

I’m not sold on the premise we overlooked him.

Packers have hired former Buffalo DC Bobby Babich as Defensive pass game coordinator/secondary. Previously Ryan Downard had title of secondary coach and Derrick Ansley had title of defensive pass game coordinator.

Matt LaFleur reportedly interviewed Babich while looking for a defensive coordinator in 2024. Babich eventually stayed in Buffalo as coordinator, and LaFleur hired Hafley.

Babich gives new Packers defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon an ascending young coach who has coordinated a defense and brings experience as both a linebackers coach and secondary coach to the defensive staff.

Babich's time with the Bills includes a stint as assistant defensive backs coach (2017), safeties coach (2018-21), linebackers coach (2022-23) and defensive coordinator (2024-25). Last season, the Bills ranked seventh in yards allowed, 12th in points allowed and 15th in takeaways. In 2024, Babich's first season as coordinator, the Bills ranked 11th in points and third in takeaways.

Now this one I like. Wealth of experience. Not exactly a Super Bowl game changer but solid background for what he will be asked to do. Overqualified.

Not Anthony Campenile, but a solid hire. Speaking of Anthony, they still need a LB coach.

Nick Rallis would be a natural to replace Sean Duggan as LB coach. Rallis was Gannon's DC at Arizona and LB coach when Gannon was DC at Philly.

He has a good rep from what I have read but I do not know exactly what its based on.

How the F'ck we didn't interview him is still beyond any logic I understand. There was a deep article referenced (I think from Tom Pelisari but I haven't looked for it cause I know it will just make me more angry) who researched the how did this happen part and the writers conclusion that there was no evidence either Harbaugh had deep interest in Gannon.

So who could have put that out there to make things look good ? Perhaps the packers...perhaps, and maybe even probably Gannon's Agent duped the our Flower. Who knows.

I'm going to do my best to get to the bottom of all. I have little confidence in the Flower to make the hard calls.

Bissachia is still here. Stenovich is still here. And now we bring in Richie Gannon.

I think it's normal to have this. Gannon wants his own guys, or guys that know his scheme.

Speaking of, I am very NOT excited to be going back to a 3 - 4. Ugh. No more linemen trying to penetrate to get a TFL on runs. Just big fat guys trying to hold the line and getting double-teamed. And guys like Lukas Van Ness and Micah Parsons dropping into coverage so they can get burned by a much-quicker running back or tight end. I really really do not like the 3-4 defense. Man, it's hard to get excited about this offseason, much less next season.
