Ah, here I thought you were talking present tense...so I thought I'd add the other facts that you left out.

But this year....You have no idea...well perhaps you do know

..that a healthy Favre with the Jets this year and Rex Ryan would be sitting at home.....and the Vikes plus TJack would be in the playoffs........but like I said.......maybe you do know circumstances
Yes. It would be interesting to see what a healthy Bert woulda done with Ryan. It isn't like he had the opportunity to play for him...or did he?

Talk about stepping in it.......make sure you wipe your shoes before you walk into your house..or mrs. bretsky is gonna kill you.

Rookie QB + Jets > Favre + Jets

Rex didn't want Favre back from the start; and I hardly blame him the way it ended there.

Now in your last comparison...there you go making those assumptions that you know it all again.....or maybe you do.

    Different Roster
    Different Coach
    Different Circumstances
    Rex didn't want him back?

“Anybody would want Brett Favre to be their quarterback,” Ryan said. “Not just me, but anybody. All that stuff we’ll get into later. I haven’t talked to Brett or anything yet. We’ll see how he’s feeling.”

“I know the respect that I have for Brett Favre is great and just comes from first-hand info. I’ve seen him up close and personal, and that’s enough for me.”

Ryan said he would rather play with Bert than against him. Kept BS as OC...to preserve continuity.

Care to point out where ryan said he didn't want him. Woody stated he wanted him back. Ryan stated he wanted him. Poor Bert...TT, MM, and now ryan didn't want him.

Bert had his opportunity to play for Ryan..and he PASSED. He didn't try. He didn't ask for a trade. HE RETIRED. Let's hear the excuses.

"When you reach a certain stage of life, you have to have your body in shape," Ryan said. "I think the offseason is huge."

Perhaps it was ryan's statements on the offseason that led to Bert deciding to retire. LOL

The facts are the facts. Jets + rookie QB = Playoffs.

Bert + Jets = No playoffs.
I remember in an interview not long after #4 'retired' yet again Favre said he could never go and play for another team again. He couldn't do that to the owner of the Jets after how wonderful they were to him and his family. After the Jets drafted Sanchez old #4 asked for his release and we all know what happened after that.

Except YOU made the statement that Ryan didn't want Favre. Yet, you have no proof. You can't post any statements.

        Ty has the facts:
        1. Ryan's statements
        2. Woody's statements
        3. Favre retired
        4. Favre hasn't thrown Ryan under the bus

        The evidence doesn't favor you.

The only one spinning is you. You postulated what would happen with Favre and Ryan. Favre retired. You spin it that Ryan didn't want him. Spin.

Favre wants his butt kissed? You mean like the statements Ryan made about him..oh, no..those mean nothing. LOL

        Keep it up dreidel.

        • And wasn't Favre not exactly chummy with Jennings at first? I remember reading an article of an interview of Jennings not long ago and evidently #4 was very aloof towards Jennings and all rookies. From what you are all saying is Favre has changed and is much different towards his purple teammates? Maybe that's because he is where he has wanted to be for a while now so now he is happy.

The facts are the facts. Jets + rookie QB = Playoffs.

Bert + Jets = No playoffs.

You can use the mouthlanguage provided by Ryan all you want. ESPN radio is really the source for my beliefs and they noted Ryan made very little effort to contact Favre to note coaches interest in him coming back. Hardly a reliable source...neither is coaches language.

              Facts are facts

Brett + Jets LAST YEAR = No Playoffs
Jets + Rookie QB THIS YEAR = Playoffs
              Vikes/Jackson LAST YEAR = Playoffs
Brett + Vikes this year = NFC Title Game
Classic. Words from Ryan mean less than talking heads from espn.

contacting him? Ryan said he was giving him time..isn't that what Bert always wanted after the season..time to think about returning. Wasn't there criticism of TT for forcing Bert to make a decision?

Ryan also said he was contacting players alphabetically.

this is so great. Give Bert time...wrong thing to do. Contact him and find out what he is thinking..wrong thing to do.

This is your best one yet. The owner and ryan publicly laud Bert..but, it means nothing. If they disparaged him..would that also mean very little.

Bert + Jets = No playoffs.
Rookie Qb + Jets = Playoffs

Jets in the championship game > Vikes in Championship game.[/quote:4524b6c2a0]

Rex Ryan made it clear that if Favre wanted to return for the 2009 season 'of course' that would be welcome by the Jets. This was the Jets position prior to the 2009 draft.

In response to this and to enable the Jets to be well prepared for the draft. Brett Favre made it quite clear that the Jets should move forward and not count on his services as their QB in 2009. Favre was in terms of his past. Up front with the Jets organization. He didn't plan to continue as the Jets starting QB.

The rest as it transpired in terms of Favre's decision to return to the game as the Vikings QB is a story very much highlighted by several Viking star players wanting Favre to be their starting QB. Favre felt wanted by the Vikings and 'of course' he needed that. He felt wanted and that added to his purpose. The man's human.

So what have we witnessed.? We have seen Favre have arguably his best season performance wise in his career. He will lead his team to another NFC Championship game. No game will be bigger for the Favre Legend. The Vikings team players full well know what is at stake for Brett Favre and the Vikings team and organization. Brett Favre won't be concerned about what Packer Nation thinks of him and his team. Favre will only be trying to do what he has done so capably over his long career.

Win another football game. I believe he will.

Good Luck Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings but most of all. As an NFL fan I want to see a tremendous football game when the Vikings play the Saints.

                Exactly.

The only people that don't know what happened are the same type of people that willfully ignore that their spouse is cheating on them.
