Peterson really did his best to not just give away the game, but to cement the "we only can win if favre carries us" mentality. They tried to make it not be about brett, especially after he got hobbled, and they responded with fumble after fumble. Brett makes a nice play to berrian for a first down... fumble. Harvin runs... fumble. Peterson... what 3 charged fumbles, 4 in reality (the on on brett when peterson clamped his arms shut before he had the ball).
Etc Etc.
Defense did noteably do it's thing in the 4th. I will give them credit. But man, as the game drug on it became more and more that the vikings need a Favre like player to go anywhere. They really are going to be below average next season without the guy. He was a warrior today, even with the mistake at the end.
It just feels different then in 2007. Not sure why exactly, but Favre had so much on his shoulders this game it's unbelievable. He was getting pounded and pounded all game, got hurt, kept getting up., Tried to recover fumbles, kept making plays and sustaining drives only to see them fumbled away. It was just hard to watch.
If favre retires, I think the packers win the division next year uncontested.
